I would say a bracelet or some other form of jewellery, it means if she wears it then she will always be reminded that you are proud of her. My mum got me a charm bracelet for doing well in my year 9 SATs, and even though it was 3 years ago, i can still remember it!

Well you can never beat a good book - a favourite of yours when a child perhaps that you think she will like and obviously not an academic one!

Lecturing mode - it's your decision but shouldn't her doing well be it's own reward? (Just a thought on reading that *some* parents are offering ££££££££££'s to their children for passing each GCSE,A-level and so on so if you start that way ....!)
Best wishes to you and yours,
Joan.

I'm wondering, why you feel the need to buy her something.
Perhaps, she might enjoy a nice lunch with you and then watching a movie at a theater, or some other activity that can be fun.

Well i am in grade school and it really depends how old she/he is. if she/he is still in grades 1-5 youre child most likely will appreciate board on of those make-it type of thing like, easy bake ovens, cotton candy machines, etc.
In secondary school or above, i would suggest, gift cards , outfits, if their intersted in music, i would say any i-pod, or walkman.

Tell her she'll get her reward 20 years from now when she has a good job and can feed her kids. Get her a book and tell her to keep studying.

something small, but that means something. money and clothes are easily forgotten about, so a small bracelet, or ring, or even a day out somewhere, so they really know you appreciate their hard work at school.
