Hey Bud,
Those prices are really steep. Do you have to pay shipping as well? That will tack another $250 on to the final price. I know you can find cheaper elsewhere. Here is a good breeder in my area. They have a litter due in the next week I think.

As for books don't waste your money buying a ton of them. Go to your local library, and see what you can find. Oh yeah, the blue pits are the most popular right now.

There are no "rare" Pit Bulls. Blue just happens to be the new fad right now and they can be found pretty much everywhere. I think the price that they are asking is pretty steep. No matter where you decide to purchase your Pit puppy, you will want to do your research on the breeder. Find out if the parents to the puppies have papers, if they were ever shown, have they ever placed at the shows, their health and the health of the generations prior to them, etc. Find out what medical care the puppies have received thus far such as their first series of vaccines, deworming, etc. If the breeder is local, see if you can go to look at not only the pups but the parents as well and see what type of living conditions they have. There are many great books out there about Pit Bulls. Go to your local book store and they will have a variety of books for you on the breed.

I don't know why you would go to a breeder to get a pitbull. That's probably the most common breed in most pounds. We got a pitbull mix from the pound, so under $100 total (including neuter and everything).

As already stated, the AKC doesn't recognize pitbull as a breed, so there's no point in getting one from a breeder. You might as well just save a few grand and head over to the pound where the dogs need to be adopted anyway.

You can't show a blue pit bull with the AKC. The breed is not even recognized. Even for a top show quality AKC dog who is already proven to be of correct type and conformation that price is ludicrous.

Why not get a breed such as a Bull Terrier. Where at least you can gain some recognition in the ring.

sounds like a beautiful dog. I've never seen a blue pitbull, but I've seen a rare Blue Lacy dog. I would think that the breed has its standards and I be careful about showing a blue , the judges may frown on that. You can go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and look at the standard.

You can get blue pitbulls from shelters for $55-$150 so why spend that much? Blues are not rare, many are in rescues and shelters right now. There are several good books out, check out Booksamillion or Barnes and Noble and see which one you like best.

Hey Buddy--Hugh what is wrong with your common sense. Spend that kind of money on a dog that is not registered with AKC. Hey Buddy, if I had your phone number ---their is this bridge and it is real cheap. Hugh --pitbulls are illegal in the city of Miami Beaach Florida. A person that has in possession is fined or jail time. These killers can rip your face off for no reason other than the dog snapped. Absolutely, not good for children. Please do not listen to the person selling the dog---they get money. You get to pick up dog poop. and make the appearance in court when the stupid dog bites or kills someone. or someone else pet. You can be charged with second degree murder or manslater --you will do time cause of that dog. All I can say--don't buy the pit bull dog.

Unless you are going to show this dog that is wayyyyy to much money to spend. You can go to any shelter (providing you live in USA)and get a pit or pit mix from them.THis breeder is trying to rip you off.I'd re-think this one dude.

Well I think that's a little too pricey for a pit bull... i got my pit bull (he's also blueish) for only around $1500. try to contact more breeders until you find the right price good luck!
