No. The Hemi is a different motor completely from the one your charger came with. Sorry. This guy is a retard!

No, a Hemi has a completely different engine. You can't fix that with a chip, but you can bridge the cap somewhat with common bolt-ons and a "chip" i.e. reprogrammed ECU. Your friend has probably seen an ad for a package with a matched chip claiming "hemi performance" or something like that.
Btw "Hemi" is just a name in current engines, they dont actually have hemispherical combustion chambers like the old Hemi engines did - they're actually a modern and quite good design.

Hemi Comes from the term "Hemispherical" in reference to the inside shape of the cylinder head combustion chamber, if you don't own a Hemi then it can't be made into one just by changing the chip. However if you want the same power specs as a stock Hemi I would go with a Super chip

Well I don't think that it will change the motor to a hemi, but it would make you motor think that it has the power of a hemi, depending on what motor you got it your charger. You can upgrade some of the V-8's can actually think that they have the power of a viper, but only if you get the chip to make it think that, but to answer your question NO a chip will not change the motor in the vehicle just the HP. Also with buying chips you need to buy other products that will allow your motor to handle the increase in HP.

Man maybe you should make smarter friends. This guy is an idiot. The "HEMI" Is an engine type. The heads have a hemispherical shape to them to improve combustion and no matter what "CHIP" you put in it will never be a Hemi.

you cannot upgrade a non hemi motor to one that is a hemi without different heads and other such parts. hemispherical type heads have a different spark and valve set up than non hemi type engines. now you can get a comp. chip to raise your power level to what a hemi puts out but it will still not be a hemi.

that guy doesnt know what he's talking about. the hemi motor has a hemisperical combustion chamber ( thats where the hemi gets its name ). simply replacing a chip wont do anything,in fact using a hemi chip on a non hemi motor will likely destroy it.

HEMI stands for hemispherical. The HEMI motor has hemispherical heads, a chip won't change the heads you already have on your motor. That guy at work should not touch your car at all, let alone any car for that matter! Your answer is no.

Um...no. That guy is a dummy. A hemi is the actual engine itself. And no, a hemi ECU can't work on your engine.
