This is his only real territory in the house. It contains his spore. In the wild, he would be spreading his spore on trees and other foliage. (Yes, like lions, the cat still retains his wild instincts). Don't worry about this; eventually the cat will clean himself.

Sometimes that is sign of the cat being ill...you need to take the cat to the vet for a check up. It can be a urinary infection. It will need some meds and if you don't do something now it will start peeing in other places.

He may have a bladder infection or a urethral stricture. You need to have him seen by a vet because a cat that spends all of his time in the litter box is a sick cat.

Because he wants to feel like he's at home. Not in the wide world of the house. He wants to have his private time to reflect and work out all the problems he's caused.
He's thinking maybe when i claw at the ball and yarn i should pee on him, he'll drop the yarn and have it all to myself, hehe.
