This depends on yur definition of 'crime' -- Something can be a crime because it's illegal or because it is a severely bad action.

Suicide was considered a 'crime' because it violated the Sixth Commandment, however I honestly don't know if there is a law on the books against suicide -- Something is a crime if it infringes on someone else. Suicide does not directly infringe on others, therefore it's not a crime.

Friend,

As long as the body is there with life you can do the good things you wanted to do.Without body ,this mortal frame you can't do any thing.

so our ancestors declared that the body is the main or important think to achieve any thing.

Depending upon our oast karmas and present karmas (praarabdham and sanchitam) things will be happening. You need not bleme any other for your mideries,as you are totaly responsible for them.
If one tries to end life committing suicide, he is not living the allotted life and stopping the process forcibly.he becomes an astral ( not good one ) entity hanging or orbiting till the period allotted is elapsed.
So one should face life with courage, boldness and challenge it.There lies the happiness.all will go one day or other.but till that dat it is our primary duty tio see that we do some thing that takes us further in the divine path.

This body was not created by you or your parents.it was a divine blessing and your parents carried you through.
So you have no ownership whatsoever on the body.

That which you can not create you can not destroy is the accepted principle. If once life is forcibly ended, you can not revive it,

Spiritually it is considered a crime because it delays ones progress immensely. If one takes their own life before their actual predestined death, they will have to suffer in the subtle body of a ghost (disembodied soul) they suffer incessantly the misery they experienced at the time of death. They are attached to their body mind and previous situation so they constantly think of that misery. They have no senses to enjoy so they try to inhabit other persons bodies to try to enjoy theirs. They are constantly bothered by other disembodied miserable ghosts. It is not an unforgivable sin but it is a terrible situation. Even when it is actually time for the soul to leave (original death time) they generally miss the opportunity to move on due to extreme attachment for their situation. (it is extreme illusion) IT is just the law of nature and one must follow these stringent laws so they do not suffer or cause suffering to others. (they are fair and just) One just needs to know the laws of Karma to fully understand it.

Is crime by man's law and by God's. Of course, when you are dead, who the man's law are going to punish? But from God's law, you will punished. Because you kill the body, but not the soul, and the man's law has no jurisdiction to the soul.
The soul is destined to live in the body for the time which is fixed according to his karma, if the body is killed, one remain as a ghost, because the material body has no use anymore.

If the attempt failed and one fell ill, then there arises lot of problem. So, prevention is better than cure.*

Ethically, if one attempts suicide, it ultimately means that, the ruler / government has not provided / fulfilled the requirements of that personal and hence it is the responsibility of ruler / govt.*

Crim by who? The reason for 'suicide' may change its perspective. See John 15:13 please. Does it view positively suicide, kamikazee pilots, suicide bombers, etc?

you should not hurt your atma for any reason. It is also a sin. If suicide is made, then that person is making their atma to suffer which is sin.
