Really, on our own we can not win this battle, But Krishna says in the Gita that with constant practice in surrendering the mind to the Supreme Lord (also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc.) one can concur the mind. We have to realize the mind is not us but just a conglomeration of all of our lives experiences and situations and beliefs etc. which bombard us. We can make our mind our best friend by constantly speaking to it with Pure words of Wisdom coming from God and His Pure Representatives. Other wise our mind can be our worst enemy. The best way to concur the mind is to chant the names of God and keep the mind fixed on Him. Hare Krishna! For info on the Maha Mantra(Names of God) go to harekrishnatemple.com tells the process.

Sorry if I'm being obtuse. Are you referring to an internal battle you're having, or are you referring to a battle trying to win over other people's minds to your way of thinking. If the former, these might provide some inspiration...
Relax. What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind!
— Homer Simpson
The test of first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.
— R. Scott Fitzgerald
Double think means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.

first of all understand is not a battle
breath deeply
relax
mind is like a glass of water mixt with dust
if agitated the dust float
if relaxed the dust just sink so to live the water clear
struggling is never helpful
yes meditation, is a good practice to let the dust sink
thoughts are just like clouds at the wind
let them go 'observe' them and they will loose the power
of distracting you
dance with your mind with the music of awareness

Lust is the greatest enemy of man. By the word lust I mean lust for extra marital sex, lust for delicious food and lust for all worldly enjoyment. I can win the battle with the mind if I am able to control my lust.
