Man goes up to Heaven to speak to God. He says "I am a representative of the Jewish people on Earth and they sent me up here to ask a question. Is it true that we are the chosen people? God says "Yes, you are the chosen people. Man says "then would you do us a favor? Would you mind choosing somebody else for a change?!!"

I'm not sure they do. They have the tradition of being God's "chosen people," but most Jews I have discussed this with say something rather cynical, like "chosen for what?" Or even "Yeah, chosen to bear the burdens of the world" or to be the scapegoat, etc.

But I do believe Jews are pretty special, even though I am not one (unless, as one boyfriend joked, it rubs off). Think about it: they were literate and had a complex culture while most of the rest of us were still extremely primitive. And not only is their history quite ancient, it is remarkably well preserved. Those Torah scrolls they treat so lovingly are not just the law, but the history, of their people. They have a high regard for education, and tend to send their children to the best schools they can, and to get the most schooling their resources allow. They have lived by the rule of law rather than personalities for many, many centuries.

And what's more, they make terrific lovers!

They don't think they are the superior race but they do think they are the Chosen People because God said so. (By the way, Jews are a race and a religion). But, just because they were chosen doesn't mean they have gone unpunished for their disbelief!

Because God said that they were his 'chosen' people but when Jesus came and they rejected him as Messiah Jesus said 'You have heard it said that the Jews are the chosen people of God but I tell you this because they have rejected me this shall no longer be instead it shall be the gentiles'.
The Jews were very angry about this.

Some Jews even claim that they are a alien race from another planet.

Some of them probably do, but not all. Just like some white guys think they're the superior race.

well, don't we all, at some time or othre consider ourselves superior to someone else in some way or the other?..although i've seen more Jews to have this attitude, i wouldn't say that the whole Jewish population is like that..

From the beginning all were jews. The tora ( or jewish Bible) is the first five books of the Bible or the Five books of Moses. So even though they beleve that Jesus has not yet come to earth, They feel they have the closest relationship to God Because they were there first.

What the hell kind of question is this?

First, being Jewish is a RELIGIOUS choice, not a race.

Second, I guess some Jewish people think they're "superior" but I'm sure just as many Christians, Catholics, Athiest, and all other religions have people who think that their religion is superior, too.

Don't judge people by their religion, everyones their own person and isin't nessicarily chained to their religion.
