The most important action we can take to curb global warming is to consume energy more efficiently. Energy efficiency is the cleanest, safest, most economical way to begin to curb global warming. Using less energy for the same task puts money in the pockets of families and reduces pollution that warms the planet and endangers our children and our communities.

Well our "forefathers" used to clear cut forests without replanting trees! Our "forefathers" used to bash each other's heads in with clubs, some of our "forefathers" were even cannibals! But Global Warming is a man made myth! It is the new fear for the newspapers and mass media to push! Before Global Warming (a natural repeating cycle the earth has gone through for a billion years) the mass media would push the Cold War as the fear to end mankind! Well, Reagan ended that threat and the myth of Global Warming is the new FEAR to push! We could go back to living in the woods, killing and eating animals, dying of diseases that are curable today - or we can enjoy life as much a we can! We can conserve energy use, we can recycle, we can pollute less - but we don't have to be crazy either! We have more trees today in the U.S. because modern man puts out forest fires, our Forefathers just let the fires burn everything in it's path - including valuable timber and millions of animals! Global Warming, Climate Change is a way for individuals and companies to make millions or billions of dollars! Fat Al Gore made over 100 million dollars on this myth last year! Follow the money!

Your question creates a premisee that temperature is rising daily, glaciers are melting and sea level is rising.
This may be a false premis but it is your question.
You do not state that you are blaming fossil fuels for these changes, so the answer needs be in two parts.
If indeed greenhouse gases are to blame:
Increase the cost and reduce the availability of fossil based fuels to increase the cost of living. Greatly reduce wages in all countries. So people can buy less. Do whatever you can to make food more expensive, this will also reduce the human population worldwide, including the poor classes in developed nations.
These measures will slow the rate of burning of fossil fuels.
If the problem is not to do with greenhouse gases:
Then we can only take measures to adapt to the changes and indeed to change itself. We could realign coastal structures to be progressively higher. Be prepared to alter the way our economies work since the most productive areas are likely to "shift".
You may be looking at a combination of both.
Indeed there may be a limit to these changes. All these factors affect how we best should respond.

1. Preserve trees and to plant more.
2. Fight against deforestation.
3. Minimise using Carbon Fuels and start using E-Bikes.
4. Solar power, wind power, and hydrogen fuel cells also emit no greenhouse gases. Someday these alternative energy sources may prove to be practical, low-pollution energy sources
5. Prevention of Nuclear explosions in open air.
6. Educating People and spreading awareness among people about Global Warming and it's prevention.
7. Every time a consumer buys an energy-efficient appliance; adds insulation to a house; recycles paper, metal, and glass; chooses to live near work; or commutes by public transportation, he or she is fighting global warming.

Global warming goes against the rules of thermodynamics . A hotter body should shed heat to become hot and then cold .
Earth is getting heat from sun . Earth itself is not generating enough heat to warm it up .During last full solar eclipse, it was reported that temperature had gone down by 15 deg. C in just 45 min span of eclipse and environment came back to normal later . slowly .

Scientists may be urged to to study sun / earth heat transfer by radiation and advise suitably to common people over the matter . If it is a transient phenomena of short period, we should better stop worrying about . Present day technology is too weak to take control over nature .

(1) Do afforestation.
(2) Use automobiles as less as possible.
(3) Use car pool. In this,if people are going to same place
(office),they should go in same car.
(4) Using public transport is more better.
(5) Avoid fast start and sudden braking of vehicles.
(6) Avoid burning of trees or any other substance.
(7) Avoid using every that substance which emit CO2 and
pollute the environment.
(8) Use renewable source of energy.

We can do many things, many people think Global Warming is a big joke when it's not,we can make a difference by doing the following things:if you have to go to the market//store try walking there walk more, you can recyle, replace your incandescent bulbs with flourescent bulbs they might cost more but they eventually pay for them selves becuz they dont burn out, recycle, instead of turning on your AC open your window, whenever possible use a clothing line instead of a dryer, unplug electronice from the wall whenever you're not using them, plant a tree.

Although we can not secure our planet, however we CAN slow down the speed at which it is warming up. First we need to take necessary steps without bothering about others who do not listen inspite of the fact that they know what is to be done but do not have enough will power or caring attitude. We need to be good citizens, protect and minimise the use of natural resources, stop poluting mother nature (like avoiding use of plastic, proper severage, water harvesting etc.) Secondly, we MUST begin doing it by ourselves and not wait for others to help us out or join us.

Fortunately we already know what is causing the global warming, it is the increasing amount of green house gases into the atmostphere.

Therefore, we also know how to stop and then return to the usual temperatures and climates.

There is a report produced recently by the IPCC that recommends to governments what rules should be in place for that aim. It basically focusses on transportation and electricity generation.

There are a great many things that can be done. If you look at Byderule's answer and my answer to the question below there's a lot of ideas there that individuals can do to help reduce global warming: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ag_qsbCpQF4HEmtNntkykRTty6IX?qid=20070615114625AAEgxO0&show=7#profile-info-YkKIjqmXaa

There are also large scale schemes that are being considered to reduce or even reverse the warming trend, some of them are explained on this website: http://profend.com/global-warming/pages/combat.html#4
