I like some with a not so religious theme..
City of Angels
What Dreams May Come
Audrey Rose (1977)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
While most have a religious undertone I am more interested in the character interactions and each characters flaws...
Yentl was a good movie because of the interplay between the characters and us the audience knowing what Mandy Patinkin's Character does not know.. i.e. that she is a woman not a man..
Incidentally amazing that Mandy Patinkin played Avigdor in Yentl and 4 years later played Inigo in The Princess Bride.. great actor..

The Devil's Advocate, The Trouble With Angels, The Sound Of Music (though I'm not sure it's exactly a religious theme, there was a lot of nunnery involved). Oh, and I liked Saved! even though it was a little teeny bopper and over the top.

I like movies and understand that religious themes are so greatly exaggerated and taken out of context by Hollywood that they are no longer anything other than a movie.

The Devil's Playground comes to mind, an old movie about a catholic boarding school in Australia and the hypocrisy involved within. There are plenty of good films with religious content. I keep them in the "fiction" pile.

Religiously themed as in depicting Biblical events, yes.
In the sense of promoting or illustrating religious values, it depends greatly on many things.
First, do I agree with the values (I'm sure it would shock religionists how many this is true of)?
Is the story compelling aside from the message?
Is Jessica Alba in it?

I'm not an atheist, but I'm not a Christian, either. Still, one of my favorite films is "Brother Sun, Sister Moon," which is about St. Francis and St. Theresa. It's a very, very well-made film, and the score is by Donovan, whom I have loved for some 40 years.

I can't even think of a religious movie I've seen, at all.
I used to like this radio program "Adventures in Odyssey", I had a bunch on tape (as a teenager), it wasn't really about god, but there were a lot Christian characters.

A Monte Python movie called: "The Life of Brian". It's a funny movie about someone named Brian who the biblical people confuse with Jesus Christ.

What Dreams May Come and Apocalypto are 2 that I like. Bruce Almighty was pretty amusing. Saved was pretty damn funny too. My favorite religious film is Kevin Smith's Dogma. Hilarious stuff.
Dogma quote:
That poem, "The Walrus and the Carpenter," that's an indictment of organized religion. The Walrus, with his girth and his good nature, he obviously represents either Buddha, or with his tusks, the Hindu elephant god Lord Ganesha. Now, that takes care of your Eastern religions. Now, the Carpenter, which is obviously a reference to Jesus Christ who was raised a carpenter's son, he represents the Western religions. Now, in the poem, what do they do? What do they do? They dupe all these oysters into following them, and then proceed to shuck and devour the helpless creatures en masse. Now, I don't know what that says to you, but to me it says that following these faiths, based on mythological figures ensures the destruction of ones inner-being. Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions, by inhibiting our decisions, out of fear of some intangible father figure that shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says, "Do it . . . do it and I'll fu**in' spank you!"
