You want to know why atheists are here?

You know what if I generalize Christians, I'm going to generalize everyone to make it fair.

Atheists are here to point out the flaws in Christianity, from the book you base your life on, to the character of God, to the scientific evidence that refutes Noah's Ark, and a young universe.

Science doesn't have all the answers, but some things have to be settled. Evolution is true, it's just the fine details that can be disputed, being gay is not a choice, and abotions are legal for many good reasons.

There are hundreds of contradictions in the Bible, and many errors.

When it comes down to it though it's mostly the ignorance behind any type of outside the box thinking that coincides often with religion.

I have, with a very open mind, looked at many sides of the coin and can easily decide that the Bible and everythign represents is way off.

I can support this claim with a lot of evidence, but I see this evidence get swept under the carpet everyday on here, but still.....

What does "proselytize" mean. i know you're trying to sound all smart, but you used the word three times, grab a thesuarus.

I Don't agree with all that you have said. the frist reason bieng Evolution was proved in 1928 because it conflicted with one of the laws of physical science. second reason being I have studied the bible for many years and have been able to prove everything in there scientifically. I would like to hear your proof so here is my email send the proof to me there and I will try to see if what you state is true or not (or see if I can prove you wrong. I love a good debate) .

So in your opinion, Atheists are here to proselytize? I don't think that's true of all Atheists. I know that some Christians use this site to proselytize, but not all do. Some just like to see others perspectives, learn a little about some aspect of religion, or pass time. I think the same is true with Atheists. There are many reasons that people come here. Some of them may be here to proselytize, but not all of them.

I apologize. I thought that everyone knew what proselytize meant. It means to try to convert people to your point of view. And I wasn't using the word to "sound smart." I just thought it was the right word for the situation!

I get where you are coming from, and I get where Christians are coming from. Nobody is going to change anyone's beliefs. It's interesting that some Christians belive they can make believers out of Atheists by telling them Jesus loves them and that they will burn in Hell, and some Athiests believe they can make Christians stop believing if they point out the flaws and contracdictions of the Bible.

I agree with you. The bible was written with a lack of knowledge that we have today through science. What you learn as a child is usually what you will believe in for the rest of your life. Plus religion is passed down from generation to generation, and things don't change with that. Science on the other hand, evolves (as you said) and so we eventually learn the truth about things.

I cannot wait until Armageddon. There will be no more mocking of our Grand Creator or that of his Son, Jesus, nor of those who love Jehovah God very much.

All the blasphemers and ridiculers will be eliminated permanently and this will be a most joyous time for about 10% of the world's population around to enjoy a new system, on a paradise earth free of wickedness that includes blasphemers with their ridicule and their constant need to stir up contention.

You, questioner, are nothing but a mere imperfect man. Why should we put any faith in your blasphemy, you earthly man?? Intelligent humans put their faith in Jehovah God and his standards, not haters and liars. Psalms 146: 3-6: Do not put your faith into earthling man as he is imperfect and when he dies he goes back to his ground; Jehovah is forever.

so your smarter than God everyone who believes in HIm and all huh? you must have an IQ of 400 of some such ****, people are dumb everyone can agree on that we did not create science we can only study it and science told us the earth was flat look at what we know now? in the end science may prove God does exist why assume you know where science will so far into the future, reasoning doubts and what can make an argument for or agaisnt anything it just depends on how good you are with words, in the end God will still be here but will you?

This category is Religion and Spirituality. Do not be mistaken into thinking that Spirituality is intrinsically linked to Religion. It is separate.
To me spirituality encompasses the surreal, the felt and the unexplained.
I may not be religious, but spirituality means a lot to me. Thats why I am here.

i know why atheists are here , they have an opinion just like everyone else ,and if I'm not correct they believe in a higher power , at least my friend who is , believes this. so my question to this is why is it so bad if they are here.
