Did the Holy Spirit realize how many hate crimes there would be when it possessed Paul to write that being gay is wrong in Romans?

What about hate crimes toward rapists? I read the news a few months ago, someone read about a convicted rapist in the paper and sought them out and killed them..... Feeling sorrow the 'victim' of the rape admitted that she lied about the rape. Now does the fact that a certain group is hated make up for the fact that they are evil or commit wrong? Innocent Muslims have been killed because of what radical Muslims have done, does that mean we should not hate radical violence? Wrong is wrong. The fact that someone may act out violently against other wrongdoers does not justify the wrongdoer in the first place.

Nothing.

And probably. However, lots of things are mentioned as being wrong in the New Testament: Stealing, lying, adultery, fornication, idolatry, drunkenness, murder, lust... and no one commits hate crimes against people who do those things.

The fact that homosexual acts are condemned in the Bible has NOTHING to do with hate crimes. Most people don't understand that it's not the person being gay that's the sin, but giving into it.

I would say that Paul was not even aware of the situation where 2 males truly loved each other. Roman society, especially Corinth, was sexually very loose. Heterosexual men would engage in homosexual sex as a form of dominance. The penetrator was seen as dominant over the penetratee. It was not an equal loving relationship. It was not built on love at all, as this activity was done by heterosexuals, often with young boys.

That's probably what Paul had in mind when he referred to relations between men. (The word homosexual didn't exist). Had Paul known that there existed homosexuals who truly loved each other and were committed to each other, he probably would not have spoken in the same manner about them. Would he have approved? Who can say? But I honestly would not be surprised if Paul didn't even know that such a relation existed.

Paul did not have anything against the people, just the sin. When are 'you' people going to understand this?

Since sin is of the devil, gay people are choosing this sin and the consequences that come with it. God is against sin and homosexuality is a sin. God loves the sinner. Stop sinning and ask for forgiveness and you will be forgiven. Very simple actually.

The devil hates God and wants to make sure that as many people as possible go to hell. The devil has made it easy for people who want to be gay to sin and fall into his trap. After all, life is really about choices we make. Choose the right path and be blessed. Choose the 'left' (wrong) path and be cursed. Since God has given all of us Free Will, you alone will be accountable for your choices. Sounds like a fair democracy to me.

There is no justification for your reasoning. I think Shaolt2002 spells it out quite well. The Word of God does not produce these issues, it points out why they exist.

Yeah, He knows. Stealing is bad. And many people hate thiefs. Murder is bad. And many people hate murderers. Greed is bad and many people hate greedy people. Being gay is bad. And lots of people hate gay people. No matter what He may have pinpointed as bad, it would always have that affect on it...
