It was originally scheduled to premiere in July like past seasons, but when the pushed back the schedule for season 3, they pushed 4 back as well. As of now, season 4 will premiere in September.

This is gonna sound weird, but from what I have read, it made it sound like it was gonna start soon after 3 ends. With Sam going on it, and 2 SG1 movies out in the fall, everthing I read made it sound like the first half will be right after the 3rd, which is far from Sci-fi normal way of doing things. What I read in earlier this year, made it sound like they should already be shooting it, and I saw a preview this week, that showed Sam in Atlantis but don't know if that is the end of this season.

In the fall of 2007. It normally starts in July or August.
