Ive been going out with my girlfriend for a week and I want to call her my girlfriend in french, in the romantic language.

You can say "Mon amie" if it's just a friend.
If she is your lover it's "Ma petite amie or Ma copine".

"ma chérie" is the best. "copine" just means friend, like a buddy. "petite amie " is a descriptive word, you do not address someone as ma petite amie, you only refer to her as such and it is not, in my mind, very respectful.

Its mon amie but dont put petite on it she may be offended... if you put ma cherie she may like it but for basics stick with amie
