This is to all the people who say ear croppings is cruel,
Isnt spaying and neutering your dogs cruel? I mean its a good thing to have, and for a good reason, and so is cropping and docking.
With spaying and neutering you slice away their balls, and with girls, tear em open and strip away their uterus's. I know how that sounds but its the truth, even if its blunt , and I admit ear cropping can be made blunt by saying, Its chopping off their ears. But its not put that way, there is good reason for this to be done, and Im much too tired spewing it, so just trust me because i'll blow you out of the water. That goes for docking too.

People may say,"Well who the hell are you too make them the way you want? They are not your ears?"
-Yes they arnt, and they next time your dog pisses and craps all over your floor, remember its not your crap.
People may say," Its a huge painful operation, and the the dog will be in exurciating pain! And they ears are sliced off!!"
-Tell me how you feel if I rip off your balls and tear out your womb.
The truth is, They are put under, and on meds. And are kept extremly sanitary.
People may also say,"How would you feel if they cut off your ears??"
-Okay, god your all sooo retarted.
For one, dogs dont care what they hell their ears look like. People do, and in truth I would feel really bad. But 1, dogs dont care if they were pink and on fire. 2, How would you feel like if they cut of a peice of your penis when you were a baby? Oh yea, people do curcumsicion. But do you remeber or care? Do you cry to your mamma and say."WHY DIDYOU CUT IT OFF!! WHY!!!" no, you dont, you dont care if she left it on. Its just is, now imagine what dogs think stupid.
God, my dogs drink out of the toilet even though I piss in it, they care. They eat each others sh!t, they dont care.
"how would they feel"? Losers, I wish I could slap you. Next time ask your dog that when it needs is shots, operations, and neutered, if it would be painful.
Stop acting all hard core with the keyboard. Its like racing in the special olympics, even if you win, your still a retard.

Like to say anything else?

Tail docking
Like ear cropping, tail docking developed in particular breeds for particular purposes and is facing challenges based on outdated and misleading information.

Tail docking is done when puppies are a few days old, before nerves are fully developed so discomfort is minimal. Many breeds are docked using rubber bands with no surgery involved. Puppies usually return to sleeping or nursing within minutes.

Many hunting breeds had docked tails because they traditionally worked in brambles, briars, and other low cover that could damage long tails. Many terriers had docked tails to aid handlers in removing them from the underground dens of their quarry. Some protection breeds had docked tails to eliminate an appendage for a criminal to grab. Today, these dogs are not as likely to hunt birds or chase vermin or guard tax collectors, but breeders and owners still like the appearance..

Activists opposed to the procedure often claim that docked tails interfere with the dog’s

ability to communicate, but dogs make their intentions known through a full range of body language, not simply by wagging or not wagging their tails. No one could mistake the message of the merry tail-wagging Cocker Spaniel, the wiggling happy Boxer, or the alert Miniature Schnauzer that is focused on a squirrel or chipmunk. All of these breeds have docked tails and are perfectly able to convey their message.

Ear cropping has been a common practice throughout the centuries and developed according to the type of work a breed was expected to do. Guard dogs were cropped to enhance their alertness and make their appearance more threatening to potential criminals. Smaller versions of guard dogs were also cropped to achieve the alert look of their larger cousins. Fighting dogs and dogs that went after quarry were cropped to prevent injury.

methods of cropping with lasers that are virtually bloodless and require less aftercare.

Pressure to ban ear cropping today comes mostly from false and outdated beliefs and from a lack of information about modern surgical techniques. Animal rights organizations – which oppose the purposeful breeding of dogs generally and purebred dogs specifically – are also opposed to ear cropping, claiming that it is barbaric and cruel.

i'm completely and thoroughly on Anwens section! Early spaying and neutering isn't a great theory. I also have a domestic dog it fairly is 3 months previous and all of us is already asking me whilst i'm having him altered. My answer? no longer each time quickly! Like Anwen says...they desire their hormones for different reasons than merely intercourse. they desire them for bone progression, and muscle progression and a bunch of different reasons. IF I neuter my boy that is going to be because of the fact he's bodily mature and arranged for it and not because of the fact i do no longer choose for any domestic canines working around...i'm a responsible puppy proprietor and that i know a thank you to maintain my canines in verify. If it have been domestic canines all of us replaced into apprehensive approximately there would not be maximum of "oops" breedings in the event that they had merely saved the canine the two constrained or at their section. And IF (god forbid) i finished up with domestic canines i would not merely provide them away to absolutely everyone that needs them. i could exhibit screen residences and do domicile tests and make beneficial the puppy replaced right into a great tournament for the kinfolk. i could take accountability for MY irresponsibility...If i ever have been to reproduce...i could do it the final way...i'm thinking approximately it...yet i'm NOWHERE close to executed discovering it. placed it this manner...if I do breed and something is going incorrect...i could be handling it myself the final way quite than approaching right here and asking approximately it. As for cropping and docking. that is executed at an extremely youthful age and would not reason any pointless discomfort or psychological discomfort. i in my opinion like the seem of a dobie with cropped ears and tail. If I have been given a dobie i could have the ears executed. In some breeds it merely would not be the comparable. i'm detached whilst it comprises cropping and docking...that is an argument of non-public determination. on a similar time as there are some breeds that I desire cropped and or docked there are others that don't seem exceptionally much as good cropped (for occasion: an excellent dane...i like their organic ears...and a pittie...i like their organic ears too)

The nasty little piece of work who "asked" the "question" (ie. the ugly troll who obviously thrives on stirring up trouble) and the three ignoramuses who were last to answer are all perfectly matched. Ugly in the head, ugly in language, ugly I bet to look at too. The fact that mutilation is banned throughout Europe and Australia says enough to most civilized people. Mutilation reflects on the vanity of the dogs owner and that is all you can say for it.

Yes, lets get circumcision banned too unless theres a good medical reason for it. What the hell is it for - "tradition"? Well, newsflash, traditionalists - Saudi Arabia has always had public beheadings. And come to think of it, I know of four good candidates for it right on this web page, before they cause needless misery to another dog.

How can you compare docking and cropping to spaying and neutering?? Spaying and neutering is necessary to attempt to get the pet overpopulation problem under control, to keep pets healthier (risk of breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc declines dramatically if done early enough), and to prevent roaming and fighting. Cropping and docking, on the other hand, are completely useless and unnecessary procedures designed to make us feel better about our dog's appearance. There is no point to cropping and docking and to see you compare its level of cruelness to spaying/neutering is absurd.

Oh, and by the way, saying "there is good reason for this to be done, and Im much too tired spewing it, so just trust me because i'll blow you out of the water" is not exactly a good way to argue your point. You're basically saying that you really don't have any real points to share on your own behalf, so hopefully saying this will just force us to believe you without giving it any actual thought. It's obvious to me that you haven't thought about your argument logically, or else you wouldn't have felt the need to post this ridiculous question.

strip out a uterus after you tear her open? wow, you must see a lot of surgeries at the animal hospital you work at! NOT!
you sound like the type of person who is not easily taught, but i have a minute. i witnessed tail docking this week. the completely awake puppy is held still. a clamp is placed on it's tail above the point where it will be cut. of course, this is the point where the puppy starts screaming. the skin and muscles arount the tailbone are sliced through with a blade. the puppy is still screaming. then the undesired part of the tail is literally screwed off by hand. think the puppy is still screaming? you betcha.

i suggest you look up the meaning of the word "karma ". You might also want to learn how to use spell check.

i have no more time for a know it all who obviously knows nothing about these subjects.

Okay I have a doberman, and was against getting his ears done completely, until my husband told me he wanted it done.(It's his dog, so it's his decision) When I went and picked him up he was fine, he never cried, or acted like he was in pain. Even when he was off pain pills, he was fine...so I am not against it anymore because I've seen first hand that they are the same puppies as they were before, they act like nothing happened. Until you've seen the aftercare, the puppies afterwards then you have no opinon on the matter, cause you have no knowledge (unless you read retarded things people say). I do realize there are some cases where it's cruel, like if they do it wrong, or back in the day they did it without putting them to sleep, THAT'S CRUEL!! What they do now...no it's not. I have no idea why someone was talking about adults getting circumsized, cause that makes no sense with what we're talking about, these are PUPPIES 8-12 weeks old...NOT ADULTS! I do know the pain adults go through cause they made my father do it when he was almost 40, I think you should circumsize babies, cause it serves a purpose trust me, I know.

*First of all noone DESERVES to be beheaded! Circumsion is based on MEDICAL needs! If you don't know that then you need to do some more research before you come on here casting stones. As a matter of fact I am NOT ugly..and neither is my puppy...I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO DO HIS EARS...HE'S NOT MY DOG! My husband has had 4 dobies before and they all had their ears done and he wanted this one done as well. It's his dog and his decision, all I was saying was what I observed after his surgery...I never said I'd do it again..cause frankly I'm not getting another doberman..unless it's a minature and they look funny with their ears done...so before you start calling people names get to know them first....People are only ignorant from their lack of information..I'm not lacking I was just telling you what I observed after my puppy's surgery

Hmm ... anything else? Okay. Especially now we've all seen at first hand the very low calibre of the people who defend the mutilation of Dobermans, pitbulls and other innocent creatures just for their own vanity -- how about you Americans start a campaign to end this brutal practice? Yours is about the only so-called "civilized" country where cutting lumps off defenceless creatures is still allowed. Doesn't that make those of you who respect the feelings of animals ashamed? I would be if it was allowed in my country. Why doesn't your ASPCA or SPCA at least try to do something about it, or are they complicit, or plain useless? I'd love to know.

Wow girl, When I seen this topic on here this morning, before reading the answers I knew you were going to piss off a lot of people!!! lmao I would just about bet that the ones screaming how cruel cropping is has never been around a dog during / after the procedure!! I feel if one has no experience on a subject they should not judge or voice their opinion just by their what they think!!!! Most are people that are probably just squeamish when it comes to a little bit of pain, even if they had to have a surgery done on themselves!!!! I really don't care what other people think. The ones that wants a crop done on their dogs will have it done & the ones that don't, that is their choice!!! What cracks me up is when people say the dogs ears should not be cut off!!! lmao Like the dogs ears are cut completely off!!! Get off it. The ears are simply just reshaped, not cut off!!! I can tell you were getting pissed off, by others lack of knowledge on the subject!!! Well, I am one that fells & knows first hand that if a crop job is done by a well experienced vet the pain the dog will experience is very minimal!!!

I agree with everyone who said spaying and neutering is a good thing. It prevents unwanted animals from being born. Those unwanted animals end up being killed.

What does ear cropping and tail docking do? Nothing important. It is a total worthless waste of time causing the dogs unnecessary pain. I know the whole "if the tail is gone it can't be injured" argument. But look at greyhounds. Their tails are way longer and very prone to tail tip injuries but you don't see people chopping off their tails. There are plenty of hunting breeds that don't have their tails docked or their ears cut up. Since Dobermans are not bred to be vicious guard dogs anymore, what is the point? With their reputation, a burglar is not going to try to grab a Doberman and fight with it. He is going to run!

Besides, docked tails and skinny pointy ears are ugly looking IMO. I don't care if it is natural or not. I like my dogs with tails and fat floppy ears.

But if that is what you like then go ahead and do it. I am not a Doberman person so I don't really care what breeders decide to do with them.

oh the debate on ear cropping and tail docking will never end. I personally cropped and docked my doberman and that's a decision that should be left up to the dog owner. No one else can tell me what is right or wrong to do with my dog, as long as my vet offers it and it's legal the rest of the people in society thats say it's cruel and whatever can get over it. Cropping and docking is the dobermans look, has been for a long time.

I am never happy when I have an animal neutered. However, this is a NECESSITY in order to avoid circumstances that are bad for the animal (overpopulation, being in heat without mating etc.). Ear and tail cropping are totally UNNECASSARY operations, which only satisfy the owner's taste for some strange reason, like the animal isn't good enough the way God - or nature - made it. If you don't like them, don't take them, cutting off bits and pieces to make them the way you want is cruel. So the difference is very big, one is a necessary evil, the other is plain evil.
As for circumcision, I am also against that, and it is not a religious issue, I know Muslims and Jews who are against it and yes, they have told their mother "why did you cut it off". Plus, calling people names, like loser or retard, only shows your level.
