He didn't trust or believe in the church nor did the Gnostics.

He believed God could be found anywhere you choose to look for him even within ones self, so did the Gnostics.

He said to seek truth which is basically saying to be open minded and intelligent, this is the primary way of thinking for a Gnostic.

And in the end the church had the Romans kill both Christ and the Gnostics for being open minded and truthful.

They both seem to have very similar thoughts & ideas.

Many believe that Jesus was actually Julius Caesar.

Jesus Christ = J.C. = Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar = much historical evidence
Jesus Christ = no historical evidence

1) Wrong. He stood up for and defended the church. Remember when he drove the merchants out? He stood up for the purity of the temple.

2) Wrong in a way. He said, "If someone says I am in the desert, do not go there. It is an impostor" or whatever.

3) Uh............ I hate these kind of generalizations. An open-minded person and intelligent person is probably a Gnostic? I hate these generalizations I see them all the time on Yahoo Answers. "If you are educated you are probably an Atheist". Its disturbing and disrespectful.

4) Ehh...................

I am just disillusioned.

Jesus went to the Synagogue aka Church. Jesus himself preached. I don't think a Gnostic believes in salvation through Jesus sacrifice on the behalf of mankind. Jesus/Christianity are not the same as Gnostic.

Mark 4:34 is about as gnostic as you can get...
"he did not speak to them [the crowds] without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

The secret knowledge passed to but a few...
And the inner circle even within the disciples.

Was the original Mark's gospel considerably more gnostic?
"The Secret Gospel of Mark" is highly controversial, of course.

Consider the words in Matthew 6:22,23. when you understand this passage you will understand the source who Jesus told us would reveal everything to us. This is the beginning of true gnsticism that Jesus came to teach.

Jesus was Gnostic. He was a very non-judgemental man. Because, he hated it when people judged other's harshly.
