If homosexuality is a choice, then so is heterosexuality. Period.

For many people, their sexual orientation is not a choice, but something which has been a part of their makeup since they were too young to even know anything about sex. But some people do make choices. If you are naturally attracted to one sex or the other, you might nonetheless experiment with the other (gay or straight) and find some value in the experience. Or have a friend who is close enough to you to make an exception in their case. Or be turned OFF one sex or the other due to bad experiences.

There is one way in which I think it is valid to say we are born bi-sexual. That is that very young children do not normally seem to limit their affection (hugs and kisses) to one gender only. It is quite possible that in a very free society, where affection, touching and intimate contact are not limited by any outside forces, most people would be bi, and only those with some sort of turn-off would be exclusively gay or straight.

There were studies done about 40 years ago now that determined that about 10% of the population was completely heterosexual, 10% was completely homosexual, and the other 80% fall somewhere in between.

NOT a choice. People don't wake up one day and decide to ostracize themselves from their families and friends by CHOOSING to be gay. It's not like Christianity, where you CHOOSE to be ignorant.

Searcher - "No one is forced to have a sexual relationship."

Apparently you've never been raped sexually abused. These are not choices people make, and as far as being forced to have a sexual relationship....I disagree.

When you're forced to have sex against your will...that's a forced sexual relationship...although a temporary one.

My big question is this....kinda in relation to the original question. If sex is meant for procreation, why do christians have sex for pleasure...and when they do, are they being hypocritical???? I mean....they can choose not to have sex if they decide they don't want to procreate, right???? I've yet to meet a married christian who doesn't have sex for pleasure.

Excuse me JimBob but right now I have 3 important questions for Bryan.

Bryan:
1) Do you wear that cool Mormon underwear?
2) When you die will you become ruler of your own planet?
3) Is THAT really your picture?

Well there is desire which cannot be controlled and their are sex acts which can be controlled unless they are being forced or coerced.
Many heterosexuals engage in homosexual acts but don't consider themselves gay.
The person below who said people cannot be forced to have a sexual relationship is just not thinking.
Ask men and women who have been raped or been forced to perform sex acts against their will.

Heh, I wish that was true (about everyone being born bisexual) because then I'd have a lot more people I could date. ;) But alas it isn't. Some folks are naturally heterosexual and some are naturally homosexual.

No, we are not born bi-sexual or homosexual. No need to put words in our mouth now.

I think all sexual orientations are not a choice. When it comes to being born bisexual, that does apply to me.
