Personally i have to lose about 10 pounds to drop a dress size, I think five is a little low. Basically the size you are in will just fit better or looser.

Losing 5 pounds only drops a dress size when you are 10-15 pounds overweight. A size 22 woman can lose 30 pounds before dropping to a size 20 if she's about 5'8. That same woman can go from a size 10 to an 8 with a 5 pound loss because it's closer to a natual weight/size for that height.

HI. It is said that for every ten pounds you drop a dress size. But in reality....five lbs might make you drop size. Depends where you are in the size/pound!

Good luck and diet carefully.

If you drop around 5lb-8lb, (depends on height) you will lose an inch, which would take you from a size 9 to a size 7.

no - its not true.
it depends on your height, weight, muscle mass, body fat percentage and body type.
if you lose weight by starving/depriving your body all you lose is water weight and muscle not fat and you dont see significant changes in your body -the only change you see is in scale
when you lose weight healthy by exercising and eating healthily you lose fat and gain some muscle - so even 5lbs can be seen and measurements will be smaller

you are mistaking pounds for inches. check your BMI and tone up.
