At work, all staff are being asked to come up with at least 5 KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as a means of measuring your on-job performance. I am a technical writer and mechanical engineer employed in the oil industry.

I would welcome any suggestions....

Two approaches I can think of are 1) Think of what you receive praise for at work as this is obviously important and meaningful to those you work with. It follows then that should you be able to measure this in some way it is a KPI worthy of striving for. 2) What makes the the job enjoyable for you and can you measure that? KPI's can be a terrific motivational tool if you manage them well. Good luck

well reallly the company should have 5 fixed kpi and then adjust the meaning of each kpi to level of employment they employ
