What the hell is our FDA doing about it. Only 2 percent of foods brought in from forieghn countries are tested by the US government... People should revolt... What do you think?

Toxic chemicals and poisons are used in plants around the world, including the US, to flavor foods. It is widespread and known by the FDA. As long as the toxin level is below a certain guideline, it is considered harmless. Overall effects of these toxins, in my opinion, are harmful at any levels over time.

Sorry I disagree with you here. The companies that import food products are the ones who should be inspecting what they buy. The FDA should set the limits for what can be in food. And should do some testing/ inspection to make sure importers are doing it. For instance canned Tuna may only have so many moth parts per pound. Don't be too squeemish here, all food has some stuff you don't want to know about.

I agree with you. We make too many erroneous assumptions about what our FDA is doing to 'keep us safe'. I think the percentage of imported food items that are inspected should be MUCH higher than 2%. They would say they are understaffed for more inspections, most likely. I wish I knew how to change it.

At the time this product was imported in the cat/dog food ,it was never listed as a food item. FDA. needs to rethink themselves.

Yes...logical progression....Republican's fault, revoulution, nuclear winter, all because of some bad food. The U.S. has the safest food checks in the world. Incidences of food borne killers are far more prevalent in Africa, Asia, etc. Anyway, I thought this was a food site, not a wacky commie Q & A.
