When you die you wait in the grave until Jesus returns to take His followers to heaven. You do not go to Heaven or Hell when you die. This is what the Bible teaches
Talking about death we should look at how life was created
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. - Genesis 2:7
From this we see that the soul is the combination of both the breath of God and the physical body.
So what happens when you die?
1) In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.- Genesis 3:19
2) And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. - Luke 23:46
3) Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. - Ecclesiastes 12:5
From these scriptures we see that when you die the two components of the soul either decay (the physical body) or goes back to God (the spirit)
Many people believe that the spirit is some intangible ghostlike substance but if you look at what the bible says
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils - Job 27:3
From this we see that the spirit is the Breath of Life not a … ghost (for lack of a better word)
Do the dead go directly to heaven or hell?
Psalms 115:17 The dead praise not the Lord.
Psalms 6:5 In death there is no remembrance of thee.
Isaiah 38:18 Death can not celebrate thee.
Psalms 146:4 His thoughts perish.
Job 21:32 Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die; but the dead do not know anything, nor do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.
From these verses we see that there is no thought in death,
so how can you be in Heaven praising God.
Some may argue that these are all Old Testament examples of the teaching of death so lets look at the New Testament
Jesus speaking about the death of Lazarus
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. John 11:11-14
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which SLEPT arose
1 Thessalonians 4:15 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are ASLEEP, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:14 Them also which SLEEP in Jesus will God bring with him.
If we look at what Jesus said on the cross in Luke 23:43
"And Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
Many use this to prove the point that we go directly to Heaven. BUT there is a problem, read on and Jesus tells Mary he did not ascend to heaven yet. So either Jesus is a liar or this verse is not saying we go to Heaven when we die.
In the Greek there was not a comma; the comma was placed centuries later by people who believed that we go directly to Heaven. If you move the comma it conforms to the rest of scripture
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you today, (pause) you will be with Me in Paradise.
But doesn’t the Bible say to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord?
As I mentioned above the Bible says we do not go directly to heaven or hell. I think we should look at 2 Corinthians 5, but rather than only looking at verse 8 lets look at the whole chapter in order to gain better perspective. If you read the whole text we see Paul talking about three states of being. In chapter 1 Paul writes 1) our earthly house {our earthly bodies} 2) a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens {glorified bodies}. In verse 3 he says 3) naked.
The question to ask is when do we get our glorified bodies?
1 Corinthians 15:51 says we get them at the last trumps when Christ returns proving we do not go directly to heaven upon death.
Let’s look at what Peter said in Acts chapter 2
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
Acts 2:29
For David is not ascended into the heavens
Acts 2:34
So when do we go to heaven?
He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the LAST day. John 6:55
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. I Thessalonians 4:16
Look at what Jesus says
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. John 6:39
For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54
We go to heaven when Jesus comes

Your body is gone, there is only you in and out of the cosmos, so you decide to play hide-n-seek with yourself. But to do this you must seemingly split into many different things. What! There is only bible and theory? That's hard to believe as I look around. Oh and by the way, you are God, and God can not die. ~ : )

Bible is God's Word that never changes and is Truth. Theory is man's ideas that come and goes with changes that may or may not be true. I go with God's Truth. Wnen you die, your body returns to dust until it is Resurrected by Jesus and joins your spirit. Your spirit on the other hand, goes immediately to heaven or hell upon your last breath, depending on who you chose to accept, believe in, obey and follow while on this earth. Many people do not believe in God's Word because they think it is foolish. But remember, the Bible states that without Faith in Jesus, man apart from God, thinks God's Word is foolish. Men without faith have eyes that are blinded, hearts that are hardened to God's truth and minds that lack understanding. Only thru the Holy Spirit do we gain understanding, peace, faith, joy and comfort. God with The love of God

Well, they usually either burn your dead body, or remains as they are called. This process is called cremation, or they put your body in a box called a casket, then put in a hole in the ground and cover it with dirt. If you are cremated, usually they will put you in what's called an urn, which is just a jar for cremated remains, sometimes people will spread these ashes in a given place, and if you were buried in the casket they will usually put a big stone at the head of the spot you are buried in with your name and the years you have lived. That's about it. Usually before they do either one they have what is known as a funeral in which the family and friends gather and cry over your passing.

Actually, you do not die. The person, that is, his soul, does not die. That is the part of God in us and it will live forever.
The physical body which houses our soul does not have life so it does not die. It will just be destroyed and this is what we usually denote as dying. There are four elements that will return: 1. the physical body which is from the soil will go back to the soil (Genesis 3:19); 2. the water in the body will return to like water; 3. the air in the body will go back to like air, that is why, our last breath is exhalation; and 4. the spirit that God breathed into the physical body will go back to God (Genesis 2:7). That spirit from God will live forever like God. The person’s soul which has God’s spirit will be judged on Judgment Day if it is worthy to live with God in His kingdom in Heaven or be thrown into Hell to suffer there--forever.
This is our last incarnation in this world. We will be not reincarnated anymore. We will not pass this way again. Since this is our last chance, we better change our wrong beliefs, our wrong and evil ways and come back to God. Acknowledge Him. Accept that He is the one who gave us our life. We owe Him our life. Let us be grateful to Him and return our soul to Him as clean as when He first gave it to us.

We Muslims believe that after we die, there is a day of Judgment when people will be either admitted to Heaven by Allah's (God) mercy, or entered into Hell by His justice.

acutually it is sleep, where no one can come near you and no evil forces can pentrate it and even the good force cannot exploit it.it is under the suppervision of god who is almighty.he is the creater and we go back to him after death and there he gives reward of good life or he punishes for the bad sin done on the earth or to the people.
some live in others blood because of good things done to him or she by thier family.
we should never spoil the good effort put by that family or spoil others family never in our life .

i like to believe that when we die we are reincarnated as a person again...and along with this i like to believe that we are born as the same person in the same time period just our life span varies and this is what i believe causes de-ja-voo its almost a little sign from your body that you have done that in a past life the exact same way.... i like to think we are given as many chances as needed until we get it right .... ♥ thats just my theory

Your body goes through this wonderful process called "decomposition", and unless you get cremated (thats when they stick your dead *** in a big oven until you turn to black ash), your tissue will rot and you will smell pretty funky for a few years. Before long, some small animals will start to eat you, leaving the bones behind to turn to dust, which will blow into someone's eye and really piss them off.
