Mohammed was nor a shia or sunni.. Just pray like he did.. In the Quran, Allah says not to seperate yourselves into sects.. Dont label yourself shia or sunni, just be on the muslim brotherhood as a whole..
There are basic prayer patterns for both.. follow these.. # of rakas during day... 2, 4, 4, 3, 4 (you know.. morning, midday, afternoon, evening, late night prayer)... if you learn the basic,, then if you persist in wanting to section yourself off to a particular sect of Islam (which again i'll say is wrong) then learn that later from some shia person...

Dear Brother,
Your Addition says it all.. We're all Muslim Brothers and sister, Please remember that the one who wrote the most significant books about prayrs was Imam Abou Hanifa, The Persian Sunni Imam Who was the student of Jufar Al Sadeq; The Great Shia Imam.. It's the same brother.. It's all from the Holy Quran Directly...
Edit:
- Samantha; Most of what you said is done By Sunna, Except we say Ameen (O God, Please accept our prayers) and we wash feet.. which are too things if wont benefit, wont Harm...

Hi...
I'm a Shiat Muslim too...
Our prayer is almost the same as Sunni... with differences such as:
1. We don't say Amin after reading Surah Fatiha...
2. It is Mustahab to say ghonoot in the second rak'at...
3. Women have to have the palms of their hands, elbows, tips of toes, knees, and forehead touching the ground while performing Sajda... men have to have their hands, tips of toes, knees, and forehead touching the ground while performing Sajda...
4. When we say Salavat... we say Allahoma salle ala Mohammad wa Ale Mohammad...
5. And when we end our prayer... we DON'T break it by turning our head to right and left...
6. After sajda... we don't immediately stand up... we sit and then stand up...
7. While making wodhoo... we don't wash our heads and feet... we perform Mas-h...
There are lots of other stuff... but this is all I can remember about the differences of prayer between Shiat and Sunni...
EDIT:
Don't hesitate to contact me if you need further information about how to do things... cz I know it is hard to find the right info about Shiats on the net in English...
Believe me... I've tried... the things that I find are usually in Persian/Farsi...
BUT I understand Farsi...
By the way... where are you from?
EDIT EDIT:
I forgot to say that
8. We use Mohr for performing Sajda...
EDIT EDIT EDIT:
9. We hang our hands on our side... we don't cross them in front of us...

Why don't my brothers and sisters just answer the question the person asked instead of trying to figure out his intentions
