You didn't give your age but assuming you are not "old", I will answer based on that. A good dentist will not pull your teeth. Root canals and crowns are a much better alternative. You need to seek a second opinion before any more teeth are extracted. Please keep your mouth cleaner and floss twice daily. That will help prevent these kinds of problems.

Hi. I just got my wisdom teeth pulled a few weeks ago. It's really not bad. They put you under anesthetic so you're asleep for the whole thing. I don't even remember getting in the car. It's very numb, so there is not much pain at first. After the first day or so, there is some pain for a while, but if you follow what your oral surgeon says to do and occasionally take a pain killer, you'll be fine! I was worried too, but it ended up being okay. Better than winding up with your wisdom teeth growing all the way in and messing up the alignment of the rest of your teeth! Good luck.

There is a wide variety of dentists available nowadays, many make a conscious effort to minimize pain, or specialize in fearful patients. Try checking the yellow pages and have a list of questions to ask, such as:
How do you make your patients feel more relaxed?
How do you minimize pain?
What do you do for a really nervous patient?
Good luck.
