Atheists want to say science is their gift to the world. Christians have made tremendous scientific contributions as well as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the sick---stuff those busy scientist atheists are not motivated to do. Are all atheists scientists? Like the one I know at 7-11, must do slurpee research. Is science a possession of atheists only?

Crazy dude----if atheists wanted with all their hearts to build shelters, and feed the hungry--they would have, but they lack both the caring and the motivation, and their actions prove this---but they have endless energy to attack the faith that does build shelters---just like you, you make me want to vomit.

Albert Einstein:
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."
"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind."
"God does not care about our mathematical difficulties. He integrates empirically."
"I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details."
"I am convinced that He (God) does not play dice."
"God is subtle but he is not malicious."
James Prescott Joule [1818-1889]
Described the First Law of Thermodynamics: The Law of Conservation of Energy:
"It is evident that an acquaintance with natural laws means no less than
an acquaintance with the mind of God therein expressed."
"Order is manifestly maintained in the universe...governed by the sovereign will of God"
"After the knowledge of, and obedience to, the will of God, the next aim must be to know something of His attributes of wisdom, power, and goodness as evidenced by His handiwork."
Louis Pasteur [1822-1895]
Father of Microbiology, developed "pasteurization":
"The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator."
"Science brings men nearer to God."
Lord Kelvin [William Thomson] [1824-1907]
Physicist, Laws of Thermodynamics, Absolute temperature scale, inventor:
"With regard to the origin of life, science...positively affirms creative power."
"Overwhelmingly strong proofs of intelligent and benevolent design lie around us...
the atheistic idea is so non-sensical that I cannot put it into words."
George Washington Carver [c. 1864-1943]
agricultural chemist, inventor of over 300 products:
"Without my Savior, I am nothing."
"I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station,
through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in."
"God is going to reveal to us things he never revealed before if we put our hands in his. No books ever go into my laboratory, a thing I am to do and the way of doing it are revealed me."
Wernher Von Braun [1912-1977]; first Director of NASA, pioneer of space exploration:
"Scientific concepts exist only in the minds of men.
Behind these concepts lies the reality which is being revealed to us, but only by the grace of God."
Stephen Hawking (British astrophysicist): "Then we shall… be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason - for then we would know the mind of God."
Frank Tipler (Professor of Mathematical Physics): "When I began my career as a cosmologist some twenty years ago, I was a convinced atheist. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true, that these claims are straightforward deductions of the laws of physics as we now understand them. I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics."
Alexander Polyakov (Soviet mathematician): "We know that nature is described by the best of all possible mathematics because God created it."
Ed Harrison (cosmologist): "Here is the cosmological proof of the existence of God – the design argument of Paley – updated and refurbished. The fine tuning of the universe provides prima facie evidence of deistic design. Take your choice: blind chance that requires multitudes of universes or design that requires only one.... Many scientists, when they admit their views, incline toward the teleological or design argument."
Edward Milne (British cosmologist): "As to the cause of the Universe, in context of expansion, that is left for the reader to insert, but our picture is incomplete without Him [God]."
Barry Parker (cosmologist): "Who created these laws? There is no question but that a God will always be needed."
Drs. Zehavi, and Dekel (cosmologists): "This type of universe, however, seems to require a degree of fine tuning of the initial conditions that is in apparent conflict with 'common wisdom'."
Arthur L. Schawlow (Professor of Physics at Stanford University, 1981 Nobel Prize in physics): "It seems to me that when confronted with the marvels of life and the universe, one must ask why and not just how. The only possible answers are religious. . . . I find a need for God in the universe and in my own life."
Henry "Fritz" Schaefer (Graham Perdue Professor of Chemistry and director of the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry at the University of Georgia): "The significance and joy in my science comes in those occasional moments of discovering something new and saying to myself, 'So that's how God did it.' My goal is to understand a little corner of God's plan."
Wernher von Braun (Pioneer rocket engineer) "I find it as difficult to understand a scientist who does not acknowledge the presence of a superior rationality behind the existence of the universe as it is to comprehend a theologian who would deny the advances of science."

The reason why it is mostly Christians feeding the poor and the likes is because all the churches and organizations have the connections to help. If there was no religion there would still be charities and places to help the poor. You think atheists have no heart and are lazy? You make me sick.
EDIT: If a humble atheist is an oxymoron than so is an open-minded or smart Christian. You assume all atheists have no heart. That's called stereotyping. You know where science had its roots after the ancient world was destroyed? Islam. That's right, Islam. The same religion Christians think are a bunch of terrorists was making scientific advancements while you European Christians were executing any opponent of the church. At least Protestantism and the Black Death brought you back to your senses. The Catholic Church opposed science in any form and executed practicers. I agree that a Christians made advances but they weren't 'true' Christians as in they didn't let the church rule their lives.
EDIT: Atheists are a minority. There are already organizations feeding the hungry why make a new one? That makes no sense if a Christian one was already there just donate at that one. If I wanted to donate I would just go to a local church and do it. How do you know no atheists are donating? Do you know them? Hell, I've donated to a local church plenty of times. And I mean over $200. But hey, I'm just a heartless atheist. Why would I do that?
EDIT: How did I attack religion? I was just stating facts about the Dark Ages.

A Christian who feeds the hungry with one hand, but condemns with the other, has done more than just motivate the world for good.
If you clothe the body, but condemn the soul and strip it clean for God, then whom have you clothed?
If you feed the hungry body, but spread fears of condemnation and eternal damnation into the souls of those who would disagree, then whom have you fed?
If you heal the body, but fill the mind with images of eternal torture and damnation and death, images of guilt and retribution which you yourself are incapable of bearing but are more than willing to press upon another, then whom have you healed?
If you become a scientist to prove that science is the work of your God, even if such work contradicts the very essence of science, from whose authority such research seeks approval, then what contribution have you made?
A Christian who cannot follow the basic tenent of their own faith ("You Hypocrite. Remove the plank from your own eye first; then you will see clearly to take the speck from your brother's eye.") and see what is meant by wheat and chaff, has arrogance enough for any atheist, scientist or not.

No, it is not, there are intelligent humans, may it be atheist, christians, muslims, hindus, jews, taoist, buddhist .... whichever.
Atheists never say science are their gift to the world, in fact only blinded theists will say that.
Christians I know who when on missionary mission insisted on a reward for feeding and clothing others.
You are as arrogant and you said of atheist, if not more.

There might have been christians who are scientists, but they have not used any amount of biblical knowledge to contribute to field of science.
And since science makes god look like a foolish fiction character, there's no surprise that the more people have been educated, the more they've turned to Atheism.
EDIT:
Give me the source damn it! Where are those journals? You talking about 13th century journals?
So you read 400 year old Journals and consider them factual?
Dude grow up, and learn something from a school maybe.

In the dark ages they were far more advanced than Europe in mathematics and science. Then the weather in proved Europe caught up. And the Muslim religion is ,was very oppressive of science. Worst by far than the Catholic church. So science died in the Muslim lands. Or it is hard to be a scientist with your head on the chopping block. Or the Mores captured half of Spain before the Church said it was ok to use demon powder and throw rocks at them at long range. Enlightenment is the word I believe.

Some scientists may be Christians, but they have not made any significant developments purely because they are Christians. There may be a lot of help-the-unfortunate going on thanks to the Christians (who think it will get them better seats in heaven), but this has nothing to do with scientific advancement.
What I'm trying to say here: Scientists improve science, whether they are religious or not. Religion purely on the basis of itself has nothing to contribute.

How deluded can you get?
Science is just science. It is not owned by anyone. It is not just atheists but everyone who is involved in it - Jews, Sikhs, Muslims and every other religion.
Sadly the only ones who tend to refute it and abuse it are Christian zealots and ideologues!
The only arrogance on show is the bad Christian arrogance. Good Christians would be too intelligent to make such a silly and sinful mistake.

Christianity does more harm than good - science does more good than harm.
The reason there are more atheists among scientists, is that they have a high level of education. The more someone is educated, the less likely they are to believe in mythology.
Christianity is a fraud - every educated, sane and rational person knows it... hopefully some day you will too.
