I never hold a puppy before. I freaked out and accidently dropped it about a half of a feet.

Just watch him; that's not very far for him to fall, and his bones are still soft, so I wouldn't worry about a fracture or anything. If he seems listless or lazier than usual or you notice any general change in his behaviour, take him to a vet. He's more likely quite alright. If he had been hurt he probably would have yapped and cried. Just take it easy with him the next few days. Good luck.

I'm guessing you were sitting since half a foot is only 6 inches. It should be ok. The best way to hold a puppy it to place your hand under it's chest, kind of like when you wearing a baseball glove and your other hand cradling it's hind quarters. If you can't hold it comfortably then don't pick it up, let sit on your lap, while your sitting.

One, don't drop a puppy....you could seriously hurt it. They aren't hard to hold. As long as the puppy wasn't crying too much or limping around it will be fine. If not, take it to a vet. Tell them that you dropped it on accident (it's not illegal to accidentally drop a puppy). Just don't drop another one.....

You mean you never held a puppy before and dropped it about half of a foot?

I'm sure the puppy is fine. Just be more careful next time.

Is the pup alive? Can it walk? Is it your pup or someone else's? Just like with a newborn baby you have to be very careful when holding a puppy. If the puppy saeems okay, then just make sure you handle it properly next time.. If it is hurt badly waje up your parents and have them take it to the vet. If it is dead, bury it.

The puppy is not hurt. If anything the puppy yelped because it was startled. Pick it back up again, hold it firmly and pet it and talk nice to it and then put it back on the ground close to where it was.

How old are you? Have you been to school? Did you pass grammer and english? What about math - I don't know what a half of a feet is, maybe a club foot? Before you post anything if you want to be taken seriously, learn how to spell and talk correctly.

It should be fine as long as it acts okay. I too have dropped frisky pups before when they wouldn't be still. Never have any of them been hurt. Check for limping and rub up and down it's legs and hips to be sure it doesn't whine in pain. If it's okay then just be careful.

Don't pick the pup up unless you are strong enough and in control enough not to drop it. Lots of pups will struggle when they are picked up and this can make them difficult to handle. Best to pay/stroke the pup while it has 4 feet on the ground.
