My daughter was in Kuwait when the war started and was in one of the first supply convoys to move up into Iraq with the 101st Airborne. I sympathize very strongly with your family. If your BIL's unit has a family support group you should join it. This helped my husband and me get through the year our daughter was over there.
Stay strong and I'll say a prayer for your BIL.

oh man....
i would be terrified for him. i don't know what to tell you except be prepared, and love him as much as possible. personally, my youngest son wanted to join the army, i told him i would shoot him myself before i'd let him go to die in iraq.(probably in the knee,or something) i know that's kind of unpatriotic of me....but i'm not willing to lose my baby for a war i dont really agree with..anyway,..be there if when he needs you, give him his space too. all you can really do is pray
