I am trying to go on walks, but thats not enough. I am an intense volleyball player, but that doesn't involve much running. I need to lose weight the most on my thighs, and then on my stomach.

You really arent that big. Yeah you might be compared to some of the girls that are super tiny (trust me im 14). I am 130 pounds 5'2 and im 14. If you play volleyball then you arent out of shape. You might just have a stomach and thighs. Dont eat when you bored. I did that all thetime. Ive lost like 25 pounds since the 7th grade. I really didnt do that much. I started walking all the time so when I got bored I wouldent eat. I did exercises in my room all the time, drank lotz of water.

keep healthier snacks on hand. i know that isn't easy when your parents do the shopping but try snacking on veggies and low fat ranch, fruit of whole grain cereal. as far as the walking goes it can definately work because i lost weight that way. it can't be just a leisurely walk it has to be semi fast paced. i only walked about a 1/2 mile 3 times a week and lost 15lbs in 4 or 5 months. imagine if i had stepped it up a notch i could have lost more. the key is to not give up and when you find what is right for you make it a life change not just something you do for a few months. it takes longer to lose it than it does to put it back on. trust me i know.

Hey! Well, first I have to say I've been in this situation myself... Don't stress out about it. Thats the main key. Instead of those walks.. maybe turn those into jogs. 45 minute jogs a day. Dont do the full 45 minutes if you can't handle it the first day. Just work your way up to it! And that stomache. Well! Fun daily sit-ups could help. Go into your room turn on that music and have a blast! Eat healthy fruits and vegetables. This will help you! Trust me! And instead of being bored and having that urge to eat, get active! Go somewhere with your friends. Keep yourself busy!

babe your not overweight
BMI is somthing you might find that comes in handy.
it compares your height to your weight and see if it
is healthy. age does not really matter tho.

and by my calculations you are a 23.7
and overweight would be 25.
so your actually at normal.

don't think of it as loosing weight,
think of it as becoming healthy.

eat a fruit & yogurt for breakfast.
maybe some special k strawberries.
(it's good and healthy!)

that should hold you off for most of the day.

another thing is not to eat anything after 7.
cuz food gives you energy.
and you'll have plenty energy to last for about 4hours,
if you eat at five.

good luck babe.
remember beauty is more than
what you see on the cover of a magazine.

Don't eat when you are bored- you'll find you eat far less fat and calories that way! If you do, then have a healthy cereal bar or a piece of fruit instead. Drink water as this will make you feel less hungry. Do excercises like sit-ups for your stomach area, and go swimming regularly (no running involved!)

You honestly aren't overweight by very much. Your IDEAL is 130 and you aren't that far away from it. Try losing 10 pounds, and I guarentee you will look fantastic! And walks do help...you just don't notice the results right away (because your legs might not be your target spot), but they help to get rid of cellulite. Swimming also helps cuz it's a full-body aerobic exercise.

Good luck! ;-)

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise - you cant spot reduce body fat (running, joggong, swimming, cycling, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

It sounds like you get enough exercise, just to much food, huh. Reading something that really interests you, or more time on the computer. If you must eat out of boredom then go for dry cereal or popcorn.
