I just bought a Ford F150 and it has a keyless keypad entry. I don't know the code and I found out that it's located on the computer. Does anyone know where that computer might be?

It is a 2004. And I'm trying to get it from them over the phone but it's taking like a month. Plus I can't just go over to the dealership because it's 6 hours away and when we were there buying it and asked them about it they said it would cost 30 bucks!!!

I have another question. I believe it's behind the drivers back seat but how do you get the seat off to get to the module so I can get my code?!

You can take it to any Ford dealer who can use their test tool (IDS,WDS,NGS+) to retrive the code.

The module is located behind the back seat on drivers side on supercab and 4 door models, behind the plastic behind the seat on regular cab (with mini door) models...

Watch out as there are also 2 f-150s that year (the f-150 and one called f-150 heritage) as well as a factory keyless entry and a add-on accesory key pad that ford sold at that time...

The factory one is installed as part of the door handle.. the add-on is usually by itself and is a square black piece..The factory one is the one Ford dealers can get the code for, the add on is best thrown away if you can't get the code

The new style f-150 is how I stated above and requires a lot of work to get to them, their was a f-150 heritage that year and that module was under the dash toward the left of the brake.

if you bought the truck from a ford dealer take it back and ***** to the sales person. a ford dealer can plug their IDS computer into the data link under the dash and retrieve the code without taking anything apart. this operation only takes about 5 minutes so don't let them gouge you, it is a service we do for free at our dealership, it helps to start building good customer relations.

I believe it is above your right foot as you are sitting in the drivers seat.
