"Now there was a river issuing out of E′den to water the garden, and from there it began to be parted and it became, as it were, four heads. 11 The first one’s name is Pi′shon; it is the one encircling the entire land of Hav′i·lah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. There also are the bdellium gum and the onyx stone. 13 And the name of the second river is Gi′hon; it is the one encircling the entire land of Cush. [Heb., Kush; LXXVg, “Ethiopia.”]14 And the name of the third river is Hid′de·kel;[Heb., Chid·de′qel; LXXVg, “Tigris.”] it is the one going to the east of As·syr′i·a. And the fourth river is the Eu·phra′tes." -Genesis 2:10-14
Actually, it is believed the the Garden of Eden, was located somewhere in Turkey. However, it is also understood that the Garden, as it were, was actually quit large which is indicated by being watered by four rivers. Of course Turkey is located just north of Iraq >>[http://encarta.msn.com/media_461545977/Tigris_River.html]
Whether it has been bombed over would indeed be ironic.
However, the prophecy in Genesis indicated that this "paradise of pleasure" was to be expanded. That this has not been accomplished does not mean that it will not be as indicated here:
"And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." -Psalms 37:10-11

One Chinese pastor assumed that Garden of Eden located in China.
Why?
1. There are 3 great rivers in China rather than 2 in Middle East
2. Scenery so amazing.
3. Lots of fruit plants
4. many reasons that I don't remember now.
This is just interesting

Didn't exist. Was an allegory.
However, the area between the tigris and the euphraetes is where civilisation first developed.
