Perhaps as we become truly Christian, it doesn't matter since the thoughts will be entirely compatible.

Christians do not hear an audible voice when God speaks to us. He speaks to us in spirit. I know you don't understand that which you have chosen not to experience, however, there are many things in this universe that are very real and you can't possibly understand all that's in the universe either. Does this indicate that everything in the entire universe of which you lack understanding is delusional? I'm sure you know how to research schizophrenia via internet. Why don't you educate yourself rather than making a complete fool of yourself?

If I am...then I am a lot smarter than I thought I was and have real power because I can accomplish anything. Some really amazing things have happened to me with God's words in my heart.

It's obvious that they're confusing their own thoughts with God's voice, because God doesn't exist! Unfortunately, the DSM-IV has yet to recognize religious delusion as a form of delusional thinking because it's so prevalent (as if the number of people who suffer from it matters).

If someone says God "told them" and it doesn't come true..they are a false prophet...if what God told them" is unscriptural they are also a false prophet....The previous is what is really meant by .....taking the Lord's name in vain...in other words.... saying God said something; when in fact, He never did.

God doesn't speak to us in the the same manner as He did to the prophets (directly in the TEMPLE) or as He did to the Apostle Paul (directly also with WITNESSES) ...

Although we are "children of the prophets" we don't get one on one, face to face or audible interaction. God does speak to real Christians; but it is through His Word (the Bible) that He answers our prayerful questions...I've not had a question left unanswered by the Bible and God's Providence ...revealed, in His due time. Doesn't mean I get everything I ask for, but in God's appointed time, all is answered.

Paul was left blind for 3 days, Isaiah said he was "undone"....both of which having seen God's glory (only in part)... I've heard people say that God appeared to them in the mirror while they were shaving...no blindness? didn't fall to your knees because of fear???..... People that think they have a private "hotline" or "intercom" with God are really rather silly, maybe even a little nuts..... Why is it the people that claim God TALKS to them can never produce any witnessess that heard it also???....many heard his words when Jesus was baptised and many similar occurences.

This listening to your inner self..is the same thing as those that claim to ":hear" God....it's usually just their own musings...confusing themselves..

How do I hear God?? by remembering the words I've read in the Bible at the right time.....say for instance I start to avoid a beggar...I often remembered verses that make me go to them rather than walk away...such as:

Luk 14:13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
Luk 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35 For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

That's why we have the Bible, Gods word can be confirmed in our spirit and his word, that's his way of communicating to his children, here get his spirit found in John 3 and acts 2 right here and then you will here and know him too.

Because I know my master's voice. Jesus said, my sheep know my voice, they will not follow the voice of a stranger.
