For the love of Pete - NO. There is special medication for this purpose.

In any case you should just let his body do what it is designed to do. The raised temperature will kill off any bacteria or virus and help him get better faster.

You cannot use liquid tylenol rectally. WHy do you want to give him tylenol in the first place? If he has a temperature you should not try to bring it down as this is the bodies own way of fighting off what is wrong. If he aches then go to the store and get some tylenol suppositories.

You need to use a Acetaminophen suppository. The liquid Tylenol is not formulated for rectal absorption. You may have to give him several at a time as the suppositories available over the counter are more commonly used in babies.

Check with your pharmacist or doctor for the correct dose.

No. There is a product called FEVERALL and it is basically tylenol suppositories. Go to your pharmacy, ask for it by name then by description if no luck(tylenol suppository for a 10 year old is a sufficient description) You might even be able to find it on the shelf but not all pharmacies will carry it. It is in a red box and has the words FEVERALL on the front of it. Then READ all the instructions and warnings before you administer. This is for pain and/or fever and will not alleviate the throwing up.

NEVER administer medications except for how they are labeled.

ALWAYS read the entire label and be sure you understand the dosage and how to administer the medication before you administer it.

Liquid tylenol is only taken orally. There are rectal tylenol suppositories for people who are unable to keep things down(vomiting) or for people who are just unable to eat or drink. make sure you get pediatric tylenol suppositories. Adult suppositories can hurt your child. Make sure you read the label. Good luck.

NO! You need to get him a suppository that is meant to be taken rectally. Do not stick anything up his butt unless the directions on the box say it's ok.

He'd probably rather have the symptoms than the treatment!

Tylenol will only temporarily relieve some of the symptoms like headaches and fever. It won't make the flu get better any faster. You could manage the fever better by cool sponging if it's very high.

Umm... how about NO! It will not work. It is an oral medication. Thermometers work rectally not liquid Tylenol.
