well you're brother is right, the TC is the better way to go but more pricely to keep up on. HOWEVER if you still decide to get a tiburon stay away from the 2003 2004 models they carry tranny problems, they have most of the kinks worked out on the 05 models tho and i have a 2001 tiburon as a winter car and i almost regret it, every day i'd have to bleed the line from the slave cylinder because the clutch would have to be at the floor when taking off or else it would stall out, but replacing the slave cylinder is far easier and cheaper than anything with the tranny. i've also found it difficult to get rid of, people are catching on to the gossip about these cars not being reliable, but i've taken it on 3 trips from ohio to florida in the past 2 months alone and it hasnt given me any problems, and the gas mileage i was averaging 37 mpg. so think about!!! no car is perfect, but tranny problems are no fun.. o and changing the rotors were very difficult to, it gets pretty rusty pretty quick if you live in the north..

Bought a Tiburon in 1997 5 year/50,000 mile warranty. Drove it for 80,000 miles, sold it to my brother and he is still driving it with over 100,000 miles . Car is 10 years old and still looks new. Also own a 2001 Santa Fe; had a 2003 accent and traded it for a 2004 Sonata needed more backseat room. I refuse to buy any other car. Best warranty money can buy. Use to drive my 4 cylinder Tiburon up to 120 mph and felt like I was cruising. Also about the warranty. If anything goes wrong Hyundai will not hesitate to repair it. No appointment necessary. They also have a loaner program.

first of all hyundais are not crap! they are very good affordable cars... but when it comes to the tiburon, thats not a good choice. for the price-go buy a 2008 nissan altima coupe. very nice and just came out. or just.........get something.......different from the hyundai....lol thats like the only bad car hyundai has. it cant keep up with the competition with the other coupes.

listen to your brother,, he knows best.
you can have a tC for 10 15 years and sell it for $4000 and it still would be reliable
a hyundai u can only have it for one day and then u have to push it to the junkyard
the tc is a very reliable car, as scion is from toyota
GO WITH THE TC

One word WARRANTY 5year/60k bumper to bumper 10year/100k powertrain and 5year/ unlimited mileage roadside assistance (good in the entire USA)... hyundai is ranked higher by JD Power and Assoc. than toyota (which by the way a TC is a nice car).. Hyundais are rated only third to Lexus and Porsche in inital quality, and reliablity.. They have come a long way!! By the way it is your money if you like it go for it...drive them both. If you negotiate correctly, or if they have rebates, you get a great car with a great warranty..If you are going to get one I personally like the V6, unless you go with the GS in a stick . I think the 4cyl is a little weak in automatic, but that is totally personal opinion. Good Luck.

Key word INITIAL quality means when its new. Anything new can be good. It's how it will last that matters. And dont buy a car on just how it looks. Thats how girls shop.
