Dante didn't. In his world, Hell was a deep winding hole that led to the center of the earth. There, Satan--a three-headed beast--is trapped in ice and has one man in each of his three mouths (Brutus, Judas and Cassius). Other sinners are trapped in the ice with only their heads or faces showing.
I've had days were I've felt that life on this planet was hell.

Matthew 8:12 mentions being in outer darkness into the place of weaping and Torment.
Somewhere it also mentions weaping and Knashing of teeth, so those there are still in a form of consiousness and can feel Pain and Suffering.
***** In HEAVEN there will be no more pain and suffering.
Matthew 25:41 Then I will turn to the ones on my left and say, "Away with you, you cursed ones, into the ETERNAL FIRE prepared for THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS.
GOD DOESN'T WANT US TO GO TO HELL. HE PREPARED HEAVEN FOR THOSE WHO TRUST , BELIEVE AND OBEY HIM.
AND HE OFFERS FORGIVNESS IF WE TURN FROM EVIL. HE GIVES US FREEDOM TO CHOOSE. HE NEVER FORCES US.
There are more scriptures describing Hell and also the Lake of Fire.
We can't just take one or two scriptures and fully understand without reading and understanding what the whole chapter and others are saying .
Find a Bible with an Index in the back to look up certain topics.
Revelation is hard to understand, but it also mentions The Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:10-15 and Revelation 14 verse 9-11.

Please read "23 Minutes in Hell" by Bill Weise for a thorough description of what hell is. I believe in Hell as total separation from God for eternity. That is every individual's choice to make. God does not separate Himself from us. He has given us the right of determination and destiny. If people do not choose to believe in God then why should they even question the existence of satan or hell? The image of satan was created in the Dark Ages. In fact, satan was God's favorite Angel, and is one of the most beautiful creatures ever created. The image of hell is horrific, but isolation from God means an absence of love and all the traits that come under it. Again, we have choices.

Pagan religions had invented that immortal and torture concept way in the previous his time such as a results of fact the egyptians , babylonians, greeks, and persians. At John financial ruin 11, Jesus likened Lazarus's death to a project like sleep. Please additionally study Ecclesiastes 9; 5, and 10.

I'm a christian, Hell fire and brimstone is figurative of how painful in your heart you will feel when you are seperated from eternity knowing that you are casted away from the light, and your soul is no more, like you were never born, (Destroyed) The lord does not torture people, their is no cause or need, but he must remove their souls permenantly or it could corrupt the whole bunch, good and evil are both powerful things, Except that which is good so healing can do it's perfect work....through Christ Jesus.

No, there are a total of 9 Hells. Not all of them are hot. What do you have to worry about?
Avernus is the top layer and is rocky with a red sky.
Dis contains a great city and is filled with rolling hills and lights.
Minauros is marshy and wet. It contains a crumbling city
Phlegethos contains fires and volcanoes.
Stygia is a frozen sea with only the river Styx flowing through it. The sky is black.
Malbolge is a huge rockfall, the sky is red and filled with stinking vapors.
Maladomini is a plane filled with ducts of lava and quarries.
Caina is another ice layer filled with huge glaciers.
Nessus is the final layer, Asmodeus lives there, it is filled with great glaciers, walls of fire, frozen lakes, and volcanoes.

No no no. He doesn't have fangs and cape. You are thanking of Dracula. Satan has a red pointed tail like an arrowhead. And a trident he likes to poke people with. Hell is the molten lava in the center of the Earth. Its not a philosophy it's the Gods truth.

Hell is real and you would not like to go there. You can fee; no hope. You will be tortured day and night. It will smell horrible and yes fire and brimstone is real. The fire will continuously burn you but you will never die it will just keep on burning and burning. The demons will torture you ... Sure I choose Heaven. Filled with love and worshiping God. Streets made of gold, gates of the city solid pearls. Peace and tranquility all around , The Glory of God the light that will never fade, No night only day filled with praising God. Eating of the tree of life and drinking of the everlasting fountain of God

Nope, Hell is imaginary. Simple as that. There have been various versions of Hell over the years, but the "fire and brimstone" version was created by Christians to help convince people to convert to their religion out of fear.

I believe there is a devil called Satan (fallen angel), but he doesn't look like you described. I believe there will be a time when the wicked perish (John 3:16), but they won't keep suffering forever. That wouldn't be perishing, that would be suffering torture! check our www.3abn.org for some great topics!
