i installed limewire on my brand new computer. will limewire damage my PC

Most of the people aanswering are answering based on wishful thinking not based on knowledge of computers. Yes, limewire slows you down because your computer is running the overhead of limewire and it is acting as a server using your processor, ramm and internet bandwidth to share.
Yes, there are HUGE issues with malware and viruses because it purposely markets itself to low end users and virus distributers know it. Despite the claims of the naieve P2P is NOT for beginners. But your question was about slow downs, not danger to your system or the legality of not owning the license to the material you are using.
Your SECOND question was would it damage your computer. No the program itself is safe, it's the content that you download off it which is dangerous. Chances are it will not PHYSICALLY damage your computer, but viruses it can wipe out a semester of termpapers or wipe out all the legal music you downloaded. Again, distributers know this and release extra surprises near the end of school terms and near holidays.

Go on limewire and download limewire pro
limewire slows u do down because of advertisement and ad ware
the pro version wont slow ur computer down

Limewire can slow down your computer by some of the songs, videos, etc can have viruses, spyware, etc attached can harm the computer. It ruined mine and I had to have the computer completely restored. Hope this helps.

It can, since you're sharing your hard drive with other people on the internet. And since the odds of getting a virus are high, that can lead to a slow computer. And having the police seize your computer as evidence in a lawsuit against you for stealing music, movies or software can make it really slow.

Having limewire on your laptop would not make it run slower, nor does it reason viruses. you would be able to get a working laptop or malicious software from various the flaws you acquire from limewire, regardless of the incontrovertible fact that.

it will not damage it unless you download a virus.make sure you look for files that have the extension exe.those are viruses most of the time.
