I seen the episodes before he got shot and after but I dont know who,why,where etc.

He was shot by Rick the guy that put Teri in a coma Spinner and Seans friend (the one that gave Emma a std) did a whole Carrie thing to him and tarred and feathered him. Spinner sees Rick in the bathroom stall and says something about how Jimmy planned it so Rick shoots Jimmy and tries to shoot Emma but Sean saves her and Rick dies

stephanie's right. the only thing i want to add is that jay knew rick was in the bathroom stall and said it was jimmy who planned the whole thing, spinner went along with it. the episode is season 4 episode 7 and 8. it was a two parter. very sad
