We'll everytime I start my 2000 F-150 for like 3 min. I hear this clicking sound but it goes away after a while. Is it a fan or a belt or something?

it is fairly common for this engine to rattle when it is first started cold, ford has several TSBs and service messages on the concern stating that it is nothing that will hurt durability of the engine. usually the noise is caused by piston slap or timing chain rattle, the reason it goes away after the engine warms up is the aluminum pistons expand more then the iron block and the clearances tighten up, also the hydraaulic timing chain tensioners get oil pressure. the only thing i would be concerned about is the oil you use, in the ford modular engines oil weight is critical, don't use anything heavier then 5W30.

I think you should be more specific. Have you gotten out of the car to listen or popped the hood to try to isolate the problem? I am sure you can at least find the general area of the noise.

well i have your answer, its a ford, you show me a ford that dont peck when you first start it and i will do something or another anyway lol, fords are cold natured and the peck that you are hearing is from your hydrolic lifters, they will do that until they get enough oil lifted to properly lubricate them, all fords do, dont worry about it unless it starts pecking and dont quit, then chances are you have a bad lifter
