I not to long ago was at a Hospice Unit.A place for those who are terminally ill.My Aunt was dying from cancer and it was about 3am.,I got bored and went down to where the nurses station was. These nurses are acquainted with death like nurses in the maternity ward are acquainted with life,or so I thought.I asked them "isn't it sad to work in a place where no one ever gets better" ? To my surprise I was told that those who are Christians receive the ultimate healing. Then I asked how this was compared to working in a maternity ward? I was told that there was a big difference.Babies are born into the world, but here Christians are born into heaven.Their last breath here is their first breath in heaven.I thanked them and started to walk away when one of the nurses said that we also have Angels here. All of the nurses became so excited as they told how an old Grandmother had passed away recently. When she died the family began to cry for their loss. While they were crying a little girl about 3 years old tuged at her daddies sleeve and said, "daddy why is everyone crying ? Look at all of the beautiful Angels in the room !Psalms 91:9-12. Later that morning my Aunt awoke and asked for me to pray that she could go home and be with Jesus. After the prayer she looked up and pointed her finger upward and said, Jesus,Jesus. Soon there after she went into a coma and never awoke again. We all miss her very much but find comfort in knowing she left us with a good testimony.

(John 5:28-29) 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
(Revelation 21:1-4) 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
(Acts 24:15) 15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know how hard this is. I have lost many relatives to cancer including my Grandpa and my Step- Grandfather.
We know that all saints will have a new body in heaven. There will be no more sickness, disease, pain, or sorrow.
Death is a very difficult thing to endure. I have stood by the bed of many people who were dieing. Death is like nothing else we will ever deal with.
My own Grandma died just a few years ago. I'll never for get I was sitting in church thinking about her when the Lord gave me Psalm 23: 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
This is the word of God and it is for you also. Remember "I will fear no evil: for thou art with me". Do not fear the death of your Grandma. Knowing she will be in the hands of a loving and merciful God.
I was 16 when my Grandpa died, the moment he died I knew beyond any doubts that he was with Jesus. I have never felt such peace in my life. I still miss him terribly. Now I'm a grown man and everytime I visit his grave I break down. I know that he is with Jesus. But the fleshly body that we buried is what I use to hug as a child. It is very sorrowful still today. Jesus has helped me with these deaths especially his. He was the closest I have ever beeen to that has died.
We will always miss them, but the comfort is knowing we will be with them again in heaven if we follow Jesus. Lean on Jesus he is with you, and he will help make this better for you. He can ease your pain.

Since Jesus death and enthronement in heaven, throwing Satan and his demons out. We can look forward to the bibles promise to cleanse this earth of all wickedness and resurrect those dead loved ones waiting in the grave.
Since the Messianic Kingdom has already been established in heaven, should we continue to pray for it to come, as taught by Jesus in the model prayer? (Matthew 6:9, 10) Yes. That petition is proper and still full of meaning. God’s Kingdom will yet assert its full power toward this earth.
What blessings faithful mankind will experience when that happens! “God himself will be with them,” says the Bible, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3, 4) At that time, “no resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” (Isaiah 33:24) Everlasting life will be enjoyed by those who please God. (John 17:3) As we await the fulfillment of these and other wonderful Bible prophecies, let us “keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and [God’s] righteousness.”—Matthew 6:33.

DOES YOUR GREAT GRANDMOTHER HAVE JESUS IN HER HEART? "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever should believe in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 JESUS DIED THAT WE MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE: He will swallow up death in victory and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces...Isaiah 25:8
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have eternal life: And I wil raise him up at the last day. John 6:40
Sing O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains; for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. Isaiah 49:13
Blessed be God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. II Corinthians 1:5

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thesselonians 4:13-18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I will pray for you and your grandmother. I lost my great-grandmother to cancer when I was about your age. I can promise you that through this whole ordeal, God will be there, comforting you. And remember that if your grandmother died in Christ, it is not the end. When Jesus comes again, He will raise your grandmother from the dead with a perfect, cancer-free body, and you will be reunited with her again, and cancer will never again destroy her. Isn't God wonderful?
God Bless!

Singling out certain verses may give you "mental" comfort but will not comfort your breaking heart. That comfort comes from understanding the message of the Bible which, put simply is:
Jesus died for your great-grandmother and you too. He rose from the dead to show us that we will rise again someday too. He promised to prepare a place for us and that we would join him.
Take comfort in that message.

My own "comfort" was in Romans 3:23, "for all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God." In other words, as a sinner before the Lord, God is still God no matter what happens in my life. I know this probably doesn't help very much, but it did get me thinking, "just who is this God?" The answer of course, "who do you think you are?" The book of Job provided enough of an answer for me.

I Love John 3:16. For God so loved the world that, whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life!
There's another that says that God won't ever give you more than you can handle, but don't recall the verse, Sorry!
I also like; I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!
I'm SO sorry for what you're going through!
We wen't through this with my Mother in-law!
