I have a beagle bassett mix in a house with two standard Schnauzers.. they get along well enough... I think it has less to do with the breed and more to do with the dog's personality and energy.. I would not suggest a "bully" breed because they tend to have dominant personalities.. and schnauzers generally have them as well.. even if they don't seem like it.. when another dog is around it comes out.. Try to find a more passive dog, not too excitable.. and then when you introduce them .. start by keeping them seperated.. (I used a doorway with a baby gate..they could sniff and see each other but not get close).. wait until both dogs are calm and relaxed.. (our schnauzers took awhile to really relax).. and then open it.. it worked for mine.. and one of the schnauzers had a history of biting and attacking random dogs when we took him in.. never had a problem when I introduced them that way..

Any dog with proper training will get along fine in any household. Decide first on what you're looking for. Be real specific on full grown size and energy level because those are two areas overlooked a lot of the time.
