You never know until you get the offer. Does your perception match the employer's, what's the competition, etc.? You could be the best qualified applicant and only have an OK interview, but get an offer. Or you could have a fantastic interview, but the position will be given to an internal applicant (who pretty much already has the job/the employer's just going through formalities).

Unless they specifically said you did, no.No one hires 'on the spot" any more.
If you made a great impression ( I hope you did) they must do a background check, probably buck it upstairs for approval,etc.. all this takes a few days.
Meanwhile, did you send a thank you note to them.??
Here's a sample,
Dear Mr X..
^^^^ Thank you for taking the time to talk to me today.
I am interested in the position we discussed, and I feel I can perform the duties in a manner which will exceed your expectations.
I hope to hear from you in the near future.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You are saying
1. Thanks for your time
2 I can do the job
3. i want the job.
------------------
They'll let you know by phone if you got it.
If you don't hear anything by mid day Wed, give them a call.I hope this is not necessary.
Best of luck. I want you to post in 3 months and let us know how the new job is coming along.
