Most people's hair grows about a 1/2 inch per month. So, for example, if you want your hair to be 4 inches longer than it is today, it will take you approximately 8 months to grow it out.

It depends. If you just got a really bad hair cut, then hair seems like it does not grow at all, while hair that you have to shave every day seems to grow like a weed!
Human hair seems to grow at a pretty consistent rate of about half an inch every month. It may grow faster or slower depending on your age, your genetics and your hormonal state (pregnancy seems to have an affect on hair), but half a millimeter per day is a good average.
The human thyroid gland plays an important role in the ability to grow healthy hair. A sluggish thyroid gland may not be able to generate the proper amount of hormones that regulate overall metabolism and other bodily functions with govern the body's overall ability to grow and maintain healthy tresses. This is known as hypothyroidism.
There is no magic bullet. If you want to go from a short style to long flowing tresses instantly than you do have some options. Your best bet for overnight long hair is to consider hair extensions, clip on ponytails or long wigs.

Hair grows about 1/2 inch per month. So you do the math as to how long you want it. Keeping it trimmed and healthy as well as taking a good multivitamin may help with the growth, but it's still a rather slow process. Just be patient.

Hi Cherie,
Hair grows one-half inch a month. There are barely perceptible changes to that in February and August. No vitamins will get hair to grow faster than that. If there is a rare disease that slows down that growth rate, the vitamins will help them recover their natural growth, usually.
Some of other answerers believe their hair grows faster but it their hair was measured monthly, they would find out it just grows 1/2" a month.

It depends on your personal genes, and how long your want to grow it out, but hair on average grows about half an inch per month. Yours may grow faster than that.

It depends, if I wear it nature. Not long. If I have put dyes, and chemicals who knows, some of it may never grow back, it is damaged. Hair Growth, can be a slow process. Pray, I also say. It works wonders. If, you are stress, that can affect your hair growth also.

I personally think it depends on your hair and how well you take care of it. You should keep your ends clipped, that's a trick for making it grow faster. Hope this helps!!
