I am Australian and my husband is American.I have just recently immigrated to America. We got married on the 30th of May in las vegas.I cant say what the nicest thing my dad has ever done for me because there has been too many times where he has been there for me but the most recent is surprising me and my husband and spending an awful lot of money to fly to america and walk me down the isle.we didnt think any of our family members would be there but my dad said he wouldnt miss me getting married for anything in the world and he planned a last minute flight and hotels and was at my wedding within a few weeks.him and my stepmum brought gifts from my family in Australia and cards full of well wishes and they gave me a gorgeous pearl bracelet to wear as my something new...as well as other things plus quite alot of money so we can go through immigration asap and move back and live near him in Australia.it meant more to me than words could ever say and it made my day a million times better.i cried myself all the way down the isle because i didnt want my daddy to think he was "giving me away".it was a perfect day and my daddy made it perfect for me and my new husband :)

1. He made me!!!
2. When I was 7 someone stolen my bike with the banana seat off my porch. My dad was on my porch when I got home school the next day with a new deluxe bike. It had a banana seat, basket and a bell. It was the coolest gift I ever got.
My father passed away in 2000; and until the day he left this earth I would still sit on his lap.
Happy Father's Day to all the Good Dads!!!!
Peace

The nicest thing my father ever did.... not fight for custody when my mother divorced him. He wouldn't have won, but it made it easier for my mother, in turn making it so that she didn't tell us what he put her through.. This is not an attempt to bring a pall over the room or anything, he was schizophrenc (sp?) and became a danger to us.. he knew she was right. So, unlike many kids from divorced families, I didn't have one parent telling me I should dislike the other.. no fighting.. He's passed on a long time ago.. but I will always remember that..

In my family, it's a running joke that I was an accident on purpose. The reason for this is that my father flushed my mom's birth control pills down the toilet. So the nicest thing he did for me is doing that so I could be concieved and be given life.

He came into my life when I was 5 , my sister was 3 & my brother was 2 years old and raised us as his own.
He worked 2 jobs to send us to private school and I never heard him complain.
He loved and cherished my mother and taught us what a good marriage is.
Only his very close friends knew we weren't his biological children...he was a good man and 20 years after his death I still miss him.
Happy Father's Day Daddy.

When I graduated Marines Corps Boot Camp, my father a Marine himself and a Vietnam Veteran had his Dress blues re-fitted and wore them to my graduation. This was also the first time he ever told me he was proud of me.

My dad cheated and divorced b4 I was three.
I tried to make amends but he keeps a grudge.
Unfortunately, the best thing he did is stay away. No use having the heart broken again.

Your dad did a very thoughtful thing for you. :)
The best thing my dad ever did for me was to teach me to stand up on my own two feet and to support my decisions even if he disagreed.
One of the nicest things he did for me was to buy me a TIGER baseball cap. He knows what a huge fan his daughter is..awwww
