There are lots of New Orleanians here in Mississippi. Those that want to work can certainly do so here and many have made a new, productive life for themselves. Since we were also devastated by the hurricane, we are glad to have people help us in our recovery and move toward a more prosperous state. In many ways, our state is doing better financially than ever before and it is NOT because of federal aid. It is due to hard work and a belief that only you can improve yourself. Thank God for that work ethic. It is the only way to get out of this situation - the largest natural disaster in the US.

I'm from New Orleans
i can say that I'm still suffering because i lost everything and almost everyone i cared about in the storm. Now, I'm in Savannah, GA. trying to make ends met. I lost my wife, sister, and grandmother in the storm, now I'm am a single father raising my 3yr old son. so yeah i can say that I'm a product of hurricane Katrina

Yeah, there are some in MS. I don't want to sound mean, or even judgmental... but these people are complete trash and I wish they would go back!!! They are horrible! However, my friend just married a wonderful girl that he met working at a shelter in our town for Katrina victims. You know, it's funny... most of MS's victims are back in there communities... helping rebuild and clean up... why is it taking N.O. so long. I mean, MS got hit the hardest. Our whole gulf coast was wiped clean. I guess when you have a Governor that will get the job done it helps!

If they are suffering its their own fault. They should get off their lazy butts, stop grousing for Government aid and go to work.
