The only sensible way to connect a video camera to a computer is via a 'firewire' cable (AKA i-link, IEEE1394, DV port) - please go and have a look at this tutorial :-

usually, there isn't a usb, but a firewire port, located usually in the front or back. firewire ports look like a small rectangle bent in on one side. buy a firewire cord at any electronics store and plug it in to your computer's firewire port. USB is usually for still cameras so i dont know what others are talking about. to look at a firewire port on a camera and a cord, check out these links. If it's digital it should have an adapter like a usb interface or if it's analog you'll need a interface card like with a video in plug. Sometimes the card is called a capture card, or a video card to let you watch TV on your computer.

digital video camera should come with a disk and a cord.
install the disk and plug in the cord were ever it needs to go

Please stop spamming Sahara. Anyways, depends on your camera. If your camera needs/allows a USB plug-in device, you use that. Or your camera has a memory stick, you use that. There are many possibilities.
