that you wonder about at times...if you could just go back and fix that situation another way...would it of helped? Or did you do the right thing, and you wouldn't change it in any way..?

I would change a lot of things about my past. Usually not for my benefit, but because someone else was hurt.

I would have insisted my grandmom move out of that neighborhood, for instance.

Sometimes "that which doesn't kill us" doesn't make us stronger. Sometimes it hurts people.

The only time in recent memory that I wished I could go back was last year when my mother died. I was on zoloft and had been for five years. While on that crap I wasn't me. My father, my mom's cousin and I had to decide whether to remove her from life support. I let them make the decision on their own and they pulled her off dialasis and she died. I didn't know that they had made that decision until my wife and I went to visit two days before she died. If I had not been on the meds I would have never let them make that decision and I believe my mother would have recovered from her surgery and be with me right now. I wish everyday I could go back in time. I'm an only child and proud to say a momma's boy. Now I have to live with the decision I made under the influence of drugs and without my best friend the rest of my life.

My family moved the summer after my junior year. I used to think I should have stayed with my grandparents and gone through my senior year with my friends and stuff. But once I got to college I realized I was one of the only ones who moved on with my life and didn't stay stuck in "high school." (we moved from a small town to another part of the country in a more urban area). So, I used to think I would have changed it, but then I realized it was all for the best, or maybe I just made the best of it...

I know I can't change the past. But I do believe there should be a lesson learned from the past. So I pass on as much knowledge as possible and teach my loved ones so that they don't repeat the same mistakes. If they do happen to make mistakes, they can't say I never warned them. I tell them out of love, not to be bossy.

It's not good to try to relive the past. Learn from it. Unfortunately, the mistakes you've already made cannot be changed. Perhaps in the future you can draw upon the feelings you have now and make different decisions.

At 50 years old there's alot I wish I could change. But I can't. And it has made me who I am today. I try to learn from it all.....and I suppose that 5 years from now what I am doing now just adds to the experience. I tell myself that truthfully no matter what I did....or am now doing.....I really am doing the best that I can with what I have.

Funny that you had to ask this question.
I have seriously thought about this today.
This is the present and we cannot change
the past at all, let's move on and do the best
we all I can. I know that I can make a difference
and I will.

I wouldn't change anything. I love my life today, and every moment up to now is what made it the way it is...
