Perhaps there is a reason that isn't obvious? The original was a gift...wonder why it was gifted to the United States?

redhawgs you nailed what I was trying to say. One this alot of missed is the fact this was a gift from everything we have ever done for the country of France. What has Mexico ever done for us?

the statue of Liberty was a gift to the US and we have chosen to make it a symbol of welcoming legal immigrants to our country. We don't welcome illegals, so there is no reason to create a Liberty 2 or place it in the Rio Grande.

Probably the same reason there isn't St. Louis arch in New York, a Space Needle in Chicago, a Washington Monument in Arizona or a Golden Gate Bridge in Florida.

Landmarks and monuments are not built in multiple places. They pretty much only exist in one place. While there may be duplicates elsewhere, there is only one original.

To equate the Statue of Liberty with the only location for legal immigration to the United States would be to ignore many of the other places that have seen a lot of LEGAL immigration such as San Francisco and Seattle.

How retarded would the statue of Liberty look on the Rio Grande lol She needs open body of water, not a river...

Have you ever seen the Rio Grande? Its tiny....Get real

Your so lame, go to Mexico City you will see COUNTLESS statues and monuments from France, MUCH more than this country ever got from France....They are all along Paseo de la Reforma, in the heart of downtown. Mexico has gotten the most from any other country. "El Ángel de la Independencia" is just one of the most famous. Question? Why do you hate Mexicans?

There's another one, the model that was used to make the one in NYC, that one's in France.

And why should there be one on the Rio Grande? That stupid saying on the side was never part of the original plan, it was some crap some black wrote and was added later.

Doesn't look like anybody can confirm because it's another lie posed against a group only because they think they support illegal immigration. It amazes me how far people will go to try and brainwash people..

Because there's only one Statue of Liberty, and it's in New York harbor.

honestly cause Mexico hasn't sent us one. if something was presented from us from the southern country's I'm sure we would present it proudly , just like if Asia presented us with something for our western boarder we would display it proudly.
