Antitheists tend to use reductio ad pessimum (elimination of all but the worst)examples when condemning the "evil of religion" but become quite inflammed when some theists do the same to atheists. Antitheists are rightly annoyed when some theists generalize wrongly by lumping all atheists together with Stalin,Pol Pot,Lenin and Mao,but antitheists constantly make the same wrong generalizations about believers. What do you think? Sweeping generalizations that isolate some facts and ignore the rest are usually falsehoods."Texts out of context are pretexts"

An antitheist is someone who may or may not reject the concept and reality of God but who is opposed to any coexistence with theism

I agree sweeping generalization do no good for anyone.

Not all christians are fundies, not all muslims are terrorists.

I think the violent reactions you got from some of the other responders is proof that generalizations are very insulting and untrue.

They unknowingly proved your point.

Not generalizing here, just calling those who profess to follow Jesus and come to my front door to tell me to leave my evil Jewish ways behind as crazy.

Not generalizing here, just calling those that proclaim with love in their hearts that my son is going to burn in everlasting fire because he's gay as wackos.

Not generalizing here, just calling those that wish to destroy the foundations on which this nation was founded - freedom for the individual - so they can place their religion's narrow views as the law of the land as the greatest threat to the US today.

Not generalizing because they are real.
