Actually, exfoliation works pretty well. I work in a spa and work with clients who have tattoos that once exfoliatied get brighter. Some come in just for that purpose.
And of course I'll do it on my tats also but they're still pretty new.
If you want to make a good at home exfoliant, use corn meal and olive oil. Or sugar, salt, or coffee grounds instead of corn meal.

You can use the Microderm abrasion from Beauticontrol. I saw this demonstration and it brought the colors back on the tatoo. The cream has some crystals that polishes the skin removing a layer of it and it will look great. Not that I am trying to sell you anything but I saw it done and It works.

I would start by making sure to put on sunblock when you go outside...when I got my last one, on my ankle, the owner of the shop showed me both of his arms. One arm was covered with tattoos that he had gotten done when he was young, and didn't use sunblock. That arm was all faded and blurry. The other arm's work was more recent, and b/c he used sunblock from the start, the tattoos were clearer and sharper. Also, I was told that tattoos that are exposed (i.e.-arms, legs, etc...) fade quicker than ones that are covered by clothing, and usually need to be re-inked. That's the case with my ankle one. Good luck!

Theres nothing you can really put on them besides lotion. But you can go back to the palor and get it touched up. It basically gets repainted. If the place you got it done as is reputable they should do it for free.

Unfortunately no. You'll have to go to have them refilled & refreshed at a tatoo parlor.
