I've always found calf cramps to be the worst. I have been woken up by them, and there is nothing you can do to get rid of them, you just have to wait them out. The pain of calf cramps is more intense for me than that of foot cramps.

I think a cramp in your calf hurts more.
For some reason cramps in the soft tissue, such as the leg compared to the foot which has more bones...hurt worse than anything..
