Congrats for being soooo close! How exciting!

Make sure on your take off that you are bending your knee deeply to get a high lift on your jump. A higher jump buys you more time in the air. Pull in tight and think about staying tight, in the air a tad longer than you normally would. Think that you do need to finish the rotation IN THE AIR before landing on the ice.

One of my coaches had me do this as an exercise for finding myself while "spinning" . . . either from a stand still or as much speed as you can handle, jump up and land in a back spin . . . do the required 2 1/2 rotation and then check out as you would a jump landing. If you do it repeatedly, it might sink in as you try your double axel!

Also on a mental note (this is from a past coach as well), if you are under rotating the jump, think in the air that you have to go beyond 2 1/2. In reality of course, you don't, but if you think you have to, you just might psyche yourself into getting that last quarter turn - hee hee!!

Best of luck . . .you're almost there!!!

A few tips:

∙ Takeoff from the forward edge with a strong bent knee and a good spring.
∙ Make sure you're upright and not breaking at the waist/leaning forward;
∙ Get into a tight, closed backspin position over the landing side QUICK!;
∙ Don't wrap the free leg - cross it properly in front of your ankle;
∙ Take a deep breath on takeoff and hold it until you've landed.
(Makes you stand up straighter.)

I hope these tips help!

Truthfully, and I know you've heard this time and time again, but practice makes perfect.
Honestly, I have not started doing double axels, but the process of landing any jump is the same. You build up confidence, and land it! Never give up, and you'll get it, I promise!

ok this might seem quite stupid yet think of approximately doing an over circled double and and think of there is an invisible line that runs however the centre of your physique and in case you progression whilst interior the air it develop into no longer be without delay and you will fall. all and sundry of those are extra psychological as you stated you could rotate it so which you basically choose the touchdown. additionally as quickly as you experience that foot touch the ice kick out! wish this helps!

Make sure that you go into the jump with a good knee bend, make sure that you keep your body upright in the air, and make sure that your hips are turning strong enough so that you can finish the jump, and keep practicing because eventually you will get it. Good luck!

First, make sure you get enough height by jumping up before rotating. In other words, don't rush yourself. Snap your hips and pull in tight. Good job on getting this far. The closet I could get was and eighth off.
