A stupid man's report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

Well, since 93% of the top scientists in this world don't believe in Big Daddy in the Sky and 71% are atheists, that would point to the need to be more intelligent than the "faithful" to be an atheist. Your hypothesis needs a little work.

This is like asking if Christianity is a crusade against Christ. Atheists apply reason and logic, and do not believe in a deity because they cannot prove the existence of one.
You are confusing their shrinking tolerance for your preaching and proselytizing for intolerance for freedom of thought.
And besides, the average drop in intelligence has more to do with the lousy education kids are getting, especially in Creationism-centric states.

actually, The exact opposite is true. Atheists think for themselves and don't care what anybody thinks. Christians and many others as well believe without any question of the validity of their religion and I saw a study that showed more intelligent people in higher places (doctors, lawyers, scientists, or an owner of a buisness) were atheists or agnostics.

That does seem to be the case.
If one does even recreational research into atheism, one easily finds, that atheism and the dogma of evolution are inseparable.
And, even thought they will deny it to your face, their agenda, is to preach the message of evolution using any means necessary.
They do not play fair, because it is never a conversation with them.
Their tools of oppresion are bullying, name calling and insult.
If you have doubts, just check references from their exalted guru Richard Dawkins. This guy, was probably beat up on the playground for being a geek, and now he is having his revenge by beating up on the human race with his predjudice and hatred for the truth.
Richard Dawkins? RIP

Of course the average intelligence level went down!
why do you think so many dimbulbs glom onto atheism, because they look up a website that dubiously reports a high percentage of scientists are atheist. Next thing you know, thousands of high schoolers with 2.6 grade point averages are trying to align themselves with the so called educational elite.
Fools is what I think, but I am entitled to my opinion!

Seriously I love atheists as I need someone who is opposed to my beliefs to have an open discussion and exchange of ideas. Agnostics are fence-sitters and don't stand for anything.....At least the atheists stand for something...even if they are mis-guided, at least they are not mediorce. Mediocrity spells death to me....so I raise a glass to the atheists.
God bless u,

I've never know them to be intolerant. They just don't want the religious zealots' point of view forced upon them. Especially if it infringes on their human rights.

Here's how I see it...Christianity and Atheism each have lots of fallacies that make them seem illogical. But here on Y/A each will try to convince the other that their fallacies are the lesser of the two. What's the point?

"OMFG! I never considered such a proposal. You're a genius! GENIUS! You must write a book! I've seen the light and embrace Baby Jesus. Thank you...oh, thank you...my soul at last finds rest...."
Oh and do a bit of research because every study that has looked into the correlation between religion and intelligence shows that the less intelligent you are the more likely you are to be religious.
