I need some answers, please. I am constantly dehydrated all the time, I can BARELY taste any food or drink (meaning that the taste is "reduced") and throughout the entire day, every single day, my mouth is just so dry its unbelieavable. I drink so much cans of soda, each day, about 6-9 cans! It feels like I can NEVER get hydrdated! I try drinking water, but I get bad stomach aches from certain kinds of liquids and foods, and I hope this isnt some sort of worm feeding itself in my stomach. I can never seem to satisfy the huner or taste! I can actually bite off the skin in my mouth and it doesnt even hurt, maybe a slight pinch. I barely have any sensation on my tongue. Can anyone suggest some help? I told my doctor about it but he didnt seem to pay much attention about it while I was just there for anti-depression (Citalopram).

This has been happening even before taking anti-depressants.

You need to be tested for diabetes. You can have your doctor run a glucose tolerance test; you can also get a basic glucose monitoring kit at most drugstores for about $20 - no bells and whistles, but it will tell you your numbers. Someone who is constantly hungry, has a dry mouth, drinks a lot of water, and urinates a lot has SEVERAL symptoms of diabetes.

Good luck!

Dry mouth could be a side effect of your antidepressant OR it can be a severe symptom of diabetes. I think you need to get a doctors help. If you are diabetic and drinking 6-9 sugared soft drinks, you could be jeopardizing your life. Water is so important. There is no liquid that can take the place of it.

Go to the doctor specifically for this reason.

Soda does not hydrate you, it actually dehydrates you because of the amount of sodium in it.

If your doctor "doesn't" seem to "pay attention" to what you say/tell him about these symptoms.....CHANGE doctors..There is a miriad of problems/diseases that these symptoms fit or fall into....find a different physician and start there. Good Luck
